Editions to child theme are not reflected

I don't know what can be the reason. I have created a blogs-mu child theme and I have edited some of the php template files. I edit the files locally and then I upload them with filezilla. Once I have uploaded, I go to check the page and nothing has changed. It looks like wordpress ignores my editions. What can be the reason? Any help?

    Hi @Patrick

    I didn't know I could have several themes simultaneously. How can I know if this is happening in my site? I add two screenshots. In the first you can see how my current theme is blogs-mu-child. In the second one you can see that blogs-mu shows an "activate" link, which makes me suppose it is not activated. Or maybe I should do something else?

    I didn't know I could have several themes simultaneously.

    No, you can have only one theme activated at a time.

    Your screenshot shows that you have activated the blogs-mu-child theme. The blogs-mu theme needs to be there, but not activated, in order for the child-theme to work. That part is OK.

    Next, in your blogs-mu-child theme, did you change the filename of _inc/css/child-style-sample.css to child-style.css?

    My editions go in two directions. On one side, as the blogs-mu theme doesn't have a proper place for setting up alt attributes for images I am writing them into the theme.

    In another direction, I have selected blogs-mu theme because I like its front page. But I am trying to show it in two languages and thus I am working with wpml for translating it into spanish.

    The site is http://blogsparagays.com. For example, I have edited the file panel-home.php at the beginning for adding a custom alt with my keywords:

    <?php include ( TEMPLATEPATH . '/options-var.php' ); ?>

    <div id="panel">

    <div id="left-panel">
    <div id="intro-featured-img">
    <?php $feat_style = get_option('tn_blogsmu_featured_blk_option'); ?>
    <?php if($feat_style == "Image Intro" || $feat_style == "") { ?>
    <?php if($tn_blogsmu_featured_img_url != "") { ?>
    <img src="<?php echo stripslashes($tn_blogsmu_featured_img_url); ?>" alt="<?php bloginfo('description'); echo ' | gay blogs | gay blog | gay adult blogs | gay porn blog directory | blogs for gays | gay news blog'; ?>" />
    <?php } else { ?>
    <img src="<?php echo get_template_directory_uri(); ?>/_inc/images/top-default.jpg" alt="<?php bloginfo('description'); echo ' | gay blogs | gay blog | gay adult blogs | gay porn blog directory | blogs for gays | gay news blog'; ?>" />
    <?php } ?>

    <?php } elseif($feat_style == "Featured Slider Posts") { ?>

    <?php locate_template( array('lib/templates/wp-template/feat-post.php'), true); ?>

    <?php } elseif($feat_style == "Featured Slider Categories") { ?>

    <?php locate_template( array('lib/templates/wp-template/feat-cat.php'), true); ?>

    <?php } elseif($feat_style == "Featured Video") { ?>

    <?php locate_template( array('lib/templates/wp-template/videos.php'), true); ?>

    <?php } elseif($feat_style == "BP Album Rotate") { ?>

    <?php locate_template( array('lib/templates/wp-template/bp-album-slideshow.php'), true); ?>

    <?php } ?>

    </div>
    </div>

    <div id="right-panel">

    But if I watch the front page I see this code:

    `
    <div id="header">
    <div id="header-gfx">
    <div id="header-gfx-inner">

    <div id="panel">

    <div id="left-panel">
    <div id="intro-featured-img">
    <img src="http://blogsparagays.com/wp-content/themes/blogs-mu/_inc/images/top-default.jpg" alt="Los blogs de la productora de porno XXX gay español retos entre chicos" />

    </div>
    </div>

    <div id="right-panel">

    which means that, obviously, the portion adding my keywords ' | gay blogs | gay blog | gay adult blogs | gay porn blog directory | blogs for gays | gay news blog','blogs-mu-child' isn't being executed.

    So, I am editing file panel-home.php in the child theme but I see no modification when I check it.

    I have solved the problem. It seems blogs-mu child themes must replicate the directories structure and template files must be placed in equivalent locations. I was editing templates in the child theme root because I had read someplace that it wasn't important. So, it's better that child themes replicate the directory structure of their parents.
