Embedding document plugins - the legality

Are the WordPress plugins that embed Word (and other Microsoft product) documents violating the Microsoft terms of use in any way? I have found a few I like - but I'm not sure if any MS policies are being violated. What is your input on this?

    Hi there, Beth!

I'm not a lawyer, I'm just a lady on the Internet, and I am not intimately familiar with MS's policies, but I do not anticipate this being an issue. You're not embedding a functional copy of Word, you're embedding a document which you own if you (or your subsidiary) created it.

Again, I'm not an expert, but I'm not finding anything in the Googles indicating anyone has been prosecuted or subpoenaed for embedding Microsoft docs on a webpage. Cautiously go forth, young woman, and embed your docs with (reasoned) abandon*.

*Forum support tech is not liable if Zombie Steve Ballmer or other Microsoft or Microsoft-adjacent entities do in fact sue for embedding docs in a web page at some point in the future.

Hope this helps! Or at least gives a giggle.
