eNewsletter plugin and BuddyPress

Hi guys!

I was waiting for today's live support from 6pm but it's not happening :slight_frown:

Anyways I have two questions:

1.) How do I add a new newsletter template to the eNewsletter plugin?

2.) How do I add a link to my Buddypress profile tabs? Currently I have two tabs active "Profile" and "Settings". I'd like to add a third one "My Subscription" which is a link to my Subscription page where I can renew or upgrade my scóubscription from the Membership plugin. So my question is how do I add a new tab or link to my profile page?

I tried these, but they don't work, nothing shows up:

Thanks for the help and I look forward to your response.

    Hey there.

    I was waiting for today's live support from 6pm but it's not happening :slight_frown:

    That was entirely my fault, the clocks for my country went back from BST to GMT and I simply didn't think about the affect that would have on my chat slot. sorry about that.

    It was a Face and palm moment when I realised.

    1. Current they would be loaded here:

    /e-newsletter/email-newsletter-files/templates/

    You can see the other templates as examples. Remember to keep a backup of custom templates for when you update the plugin.

    2. For this one you could add the following to your bp-custom.php file:

    add_action( 'bp_setup_nav', 'my_custom_bp_nav', 10 );
    function my_custom_bp_nav() {
    	global $bp;

    	if( bp_is_my_profile()) {
    		bp_core_new_nav_item( array( 'name' => sprintf( __( 'Monsters', 'buddypress' ) ), 'slug' => '../../slug/', 'position' => 60, 'default_subnav_slug' => 'my-custom', 'item_css_id' => 'unique-css-selector' ) );
    	}
    }

    The slug part needs to be a slug, so it would be something like:

    http://cowpat.net/bp-members/tim/

    You would want to do something further there. perhaps try ../../slug/ that takes to:

    http://cowpat.net/

    rather than with the /bp-members/tim/ on the end.

    Hope this helps.

    Hey Timothy! No worries, I didn't realised that we had to roll the clock back until my consulting client showed up one hour early.

    Thanks for the above solutions, they worked like a charm.
    Now just to make it pretty, is there a way to make my subscription page show up on my profile? I mean right now I added a link which takes me to a separate page. Is there a way to make the contents of that page show up right there on my profile if I click on the "My Subscription" tab?

    Thanks in advance.

    One more quick question: Where do I find the merge tags for the Events+ plugin so that I can create a Newsletter template that automatically sends out a newsletter if I add a new event?

    As a matter of fact, where do I find the shortcodes and merge tags for most of these plugins (Events+, Membership, eNewsletter, etc.)? I had to go hunt down in the forums the shortcodes for membership plugin, shortcodes like these, to create my own pages:

    [subscriptiondetails subscription="2"]
    [subscriptionprice subscription="2"]
    [subscriptionbutton subscription="2"]

    Hey again.

    Hey Timothy! No worries, I didn't realised that we had to roll the clock back until my consulting client showed up one hour early.

    I think because phones and computers do it for you automatically these days it's something we have to think about so much. ha.

    Thanks for the above solutions, they worked like a charm.

    You're most welcome.

    That would take some coding, unfortunately it would be out of the remit of support due to it being a little more complex and time consuming.

    You could however make a new thread to turn it into a feature request. I'm sure more members would love something like this.

    Or if you need it now and it's not something you can code up then you might consider a computer like Tweaky:

    https://www.tweaky.com

    That said.....

    As cheating way of doing this, and it's not so dynamic you could use do_shortcode to use this:

    [subscriptiondetails subscription="2"]

    To read more about do_shortcode you can go here:

    One more quick question: Where do I find the merge tags for the Events+ plugin so that I can create a Newsletter template that automatically sends out a newsletter if I add a new event?

    I wasn't aware of there being one, did you see this somewhere?

    If so then please let me know and I'll look into that further.

    The events+ has add ons which products shotcodes, you can hover over or click on the little I's from the settings page to see those.

    Membership has shortcodes on the levels page and from the options page.

    I don't recall enewsletter having any...

    With the exception of those you posted in Membership, they should be visible in the plugin settings. Like in MarketPress, under settings is a shortcodes tab.

    Hope this helps.
