Events+ Next Event shortcode + How to disable posted on and author display

I have activated the "Next Event Shortcode" addon to Events+, but I must have something wrong. It is just showing "Closed". I dont want it to show expired events, I want it to show the next event that is coming up.

Also, all my events show posted on, and posted by. Is there an easy way to hide these fields on published events?

    Hi @Jay,

    I hope you are well today and thanks for posting on the forum.

    Could you please share me the Next Event schortcode that you are using on the page so that i can troubleshoot it?

    Make sure you have creates the next upcoming event that has not started yet.

    Would you mind if I logged in to your site and did some testing? This might help get to the bottom of this faster. If this is ok, just grant me temporary admin access to your site by clicking "Grant Access" button in the WPMU DEV Dashboard Settings from the following path and reply on this thread after granting it?

    Admin -> WPMU DEV -> Support -> Support Access Tab

    Also, all my events show posted on, and posted by. Is there an easy way to hide these fields on published events?

    Please share me the page link where you want to hide it so that i can help you to hide it.

    Kind Regards,
    Vinod Dalvi

    Hi @Jay,

    Thank you for your reply.

    I could reproduce the next_event shortcode issue on my test site therefore i have notified it to the plugin developer to fix it.

    In the meanwhile you can use other shortcodes like "Next Event Countdown" or "Event Countdown" instead of it.

    I'd like to hide the author and published date on ALL events, as well as the snippets of events on the main events page at http://virginvalleydems.com/events/

    To hide it try adding the following CSS code in the style.css file of your child theme or add it in your site using the following plugin.

    http://wordpress.org/plugins/simple-custom-css

    body.post-type-archive-incsub_event p.entry-meta,
    body.single-incsub_event p.entry-meta {
       display: none;
    }

    Regards,

      Hi guys,

      Just wanted to chime in on this old post and say that the above code didn't work for me in order to hide the post author and post date on an event. I'd also like to point out that having two dates appear on Event posts is a bad thing, I would think, for pretty much everyone. It's a bit redundant, and also a potential bit of confusion for people who are looking at the event. They'll see two dates. I'd like to think there are people who are observant enough to know the difference, especially considering the size of the text and the fact that one is in the past/present and the other in the future most of the time.

      Still... this is the internet, and the people looking at a site are easily confused sometimes. I'd like to add in a small feature request that an add-on be added to Events Plus to do this.

      If there is working code that will hide event author and post date completely from an event page as well as all event-based archives, I want to know it too.

      Thanks!

        Hi Charlie,

        The provided code may not work on your site and the classes that i have used in the code can be theme specific so to make it work on your site i have to check your site for appropriate classes.

        Could you please share the page URLs from your site where you want to hide it so that i can provide you appropriate code to achieve it?

        I'd also like to point out that having two dates appear on Event posts is a bad thing, I would think, for pretty much everyone.

        The two dates are displayed for different purposes, the one displays the date of event when it is published and the other displays when the event took place.

        I'd like to add in a small feature request that an add-on be added to Events Plus to do this.

        I appreciate your feedback and moved this over to the features & feedback section. This way it can be considered for future development, and we can also see what other community members think about the feature request.

        Regards,
        Vinod Dalvi

    Hi folks
    just wondering if there is an option now to not show the authors name and date that the event was posted on. People will see the event and possibly notice the date added and think incorrectly that is the date of the event.

Thank NAME, for their help.

Let NAME know exactly why they deserved these points.
