Events shortcode showing parent category doesn't show childs

Hey,

I'm using the Events plugin for different event organisers. They are a child category and their parent category is the county/state that the event is located.

What I wanted was a shortcode that is for the parent calender, so that a person could see all the events within that county/state.

I've set up the shortcode on the following page, but it shows no events.

https://airsoftnation.co.uk/events/events-in-kent/
(Essentially: [eab_calendar category="Kent" navigation="yes"])

However, looking at the Event Categories - if I click 'View' on the parent category I can see the event. https://airsoftnation.co.uk/airsoft-events/kent/

Any ideas?

Along with that, whats the shortcode to make a 'list' of events. I presume the Archive shortcodes are for expired/past events?

I've enabled access to the website.

Thanks in advance,
Graham

    Hello Graham,

Actually calendar on your site does not show any event from your site (even if I only use [eab_calendar] ) - and I did test on my local environment and for parent category and it was showing child categories events as well. So I suspect that there is some kind of conflict on your site.
Please run a quick plugin/theme conflict test as illustrated in getting support manual (flowchart). Let me know how it goes.

It will be [eab_archive] shortcode - this one will display future events (by default for current month, with add-on "Default to all events" all future shortcodes) in form of the list.
Shortcode for past/expired event is [eab_expired].

    kind regards,

    Hi Kasia,

Have you done anything or can you check again? I can see them perfectly fine, even under an account that isn't an administrator...

I've attached screenshots - they're definitely there. Including my 'Events in Kent'

    Hello Graham,

Unfortunately bumping thread on our form works opposite way than on others - it puts your thread lower in the queue.

Strange, I'm looking at those pages with support access and there is nothing there.

that is why I asked to do the full conflict test. Can you confirm that you see those events with super admin account?

    kind regards,
    Kasia

    Hello Graham

I am not sure if Kasia Swiderska has made any changes, she will reply.

Please check the page now: https://airsoftnation.co.uk/events/events-in-kent/

The event is appeared now. To fix this, I had to go to Events > Settings > Group Event Settings > Uncheck the box for "Group events are private to groups?". As this event is a BP event, so you have to uncheck that box to make it appeared in the calendar.

Hope it helps  Please feel free to ask more question if you have any.

    Cheers
    Ash
