Facebook comments set to override wordpress comments but don't show up

I have facebook comments set in the settings to be used and to override wordpress comments, but wordpress comments are still the only thing that shows up on my site.

I think I might need a custom hook to make it work with my theme (headway theme framework)? but I don’t know how to create or implement that.

    Greetings dsdmdesign,

Thank you for being a WPMU Dev member!

I have facebook comments set in the settings to be used and to override wordpress comments, but wordpress comments are still the only thing that shows up on my site.

I think I might need a custom hook to make it work with my theme (headway theme framework)? but I don’t know how to create or implement that.

It can be pretty challenging to support other peoples work (headway theme framework), but we do our best here to help you with any WordPress issues at all, so let’s see what we can do!

What I will do is ask the lead developer of if they can see any specific issues that could be causing this or offer any advice to overcome this.

Of course this can take a bit longer than a regular support ticket – so if you could post any progress you have trying to debug the problem here too in the meantime that would really help.

Looking forward to sorting out your issue for you and thanks again for being a WPMU DEV member.

    Cheers, Joe

    Hi,

I’m glad we sorted that one out. To actually prevent WordPress default comments from showing up, you’ll want to head over to your comments settings (Settings > Discussion) and turn off comments by unchecking the checkbox that says “Allow people to post comments on new articles”. While in there, you’ll possibly also want to check the box that says “Automatically close comments on articles older than”, and enter a really low value (e.g. 1) in the little text box right next to it.

Thank NAME, for their help.
