Feature request: CRM intregration support for Pro Sites

So a feature request for Pro Site.

WPMU Dev, please let us have the possibility to use a CRM system in co-existence with Pro Sites to manage our customers, potential sales leads, users , accounts, accounting etc. Automation is a good and necessary thing for all businesses in today's world.

At least please support the big ones like SugarCRM , Sales force, Zoho CRM etc. The current system to do this in pro sites is very limited and does not fulfill the needs in my opinion.

Thanks..

    Hi PowerQuest

At least please support the big ones like SugarCRM , Sales force, Zoho CRM etc.

    1. I would say at first place it would be great to have a CRM integrated which works from within Wordpress

    2. I would NOT focus on integrating the above mentioned proprietary systems. Much better would be to integrate and build connectors to SuiteCRM - the Open Source Alternative started when Sugar CRM went Proprietary.

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/salesforce-wordpress-to-lead/
already connects to Salesforce - reinventing wheels does not make sense

The problem with most WordPress CRMs is actually that they all are Free in a version which is simply unusable and their packages start with hundreds of Dollars!

If you need a CRM, HRM, WebsiteBuilder, eCommerce, Shop website, Booking Events, Fleet Management, Accounting/Invoicing, and so much more I recommend using

Odoo11 or much better using Flectra https://flectrahq.com/page/homepage

    Very easy to setup
comes with website builder which is even easier than one from WordPress
    Has all you need
Easy to keep updates via git in one version and in Flectra also between versions (upgrade path)

You can try Odoo 11 - or Flectra

Another great ERP CRM etc system is ERPnext which has until now not such a nice website functionality or builders like Odoo and Flectra.

    https://erpnext.com/ or

    ERP5
    https://www.erp5.com/

    Kind regards

Well I just listed the big ones above as they are the most commonly used systems worldwide. As a matter a fact ANY good CRM system supported by Pro sites would do, and being far better than just having nothing at all, (Which kind of sucks).

But I have been using both Zoho and SugarCRM in the past. Both have proved to be very solid systems. Zoho is free also for a limited amount of users. SugarCRM is open source and used to have a free community edition in the past. Ironically you mention SuiteCRM which is a fork of SugarCRM. I never used Salesforce, I don’t think I ever will user Salesforce, because they are ridiculously expensive.

However there is of course many other systems out there that would be nice to have support for like WP ERP https://wperp.com/, the main point isn't to have a specific support for just the systems I listed, but to have support for CRM systems in general as it is a very important and crucial part of most businesses in today's world.

So again, please WPMU DEV please build in support for multiple different CRM systems and let us use it, so Pro SItes actually because really useful and powerful tool of any business.

Right now its just "useful" in my opinion.

    Andi quoting you:

The problem with most WordPress CRMs is actually that they all are Free in a version which is simply unusable and their packages start with hundreds of Dollars!

That is actually one of the reasons why I quoted the three big ones too.

The WP community have this annoying tradition of offering "free" but you need to "pay to win" instead and ending getting ripped off in some cases because of the extensions/plugins you need to buy to get the same functionality as Zoho CRM,SugarCRM, SuiteCRM etc offers already, which actually would prove to be much cheaper solution in many cases where you get access to everything without having to pay extra for it and thus unlocking features.

However there is of course obvious benefits in running a CRM built for WordPress because of the integration part of the CRM would have direct access to the database etc. There are also considerations of course as it could be dangerous of running everything in the same place if you get (w)hacked. Having your critical data another place like SuiteCRM, makes in that scenario much sense in my opinion, downside is of course the lack of DB integration access.

So yes, I do think it would be good to have a mix of CRM systems that were supported by WPMU DEV Pro Sites, so you could choose the one that best would suit your company needs and requirements.

Some like or need the big CRM providers and others don't like them because they are proprietary or don't have the need them big solutions and like smaller WP CRM solutions.

One size indeed doesn't fit all. :smirk:
