Feed is not processed/adding posts

I have used the feed before with auto blog and it worked. Then it stopped. I just used the feed validator to make sure it is indeed a valid feed and it is. Auto blog is giving me an error when I try to process the feed http://tatertotsandwine.weebly.com/2/feed

A feed could not be found at http://tatertotsandwine.weebly.com/2/feed. A feed with an invalid mime type may fall victim to this error, or SimplePie was unable to auto-discover it.. Use force_feed() if you are certain this URL is a real feed.

I did try to force it and the same error

Hi Kim, hope you had a wonderful day.

Yeah, I'm getting same result for your target feed. Can you please make sure all other feeds are working fine on your site? Other feeds are working fine on my site.

In this scenario, I'll suggest you to contact the authority of that feed. Seems like this is a known issue for WordPress, it happened sometimes for other users, but Autoblog uses Simplepie, and as long as Simplepie can't read that feed properly, I'm afraid, we don't have much to do.

Please let us know what they say. We will be glad to help if anything is required from our end.

    Have a nice day. Cheers!

    Hi Rupok,
The owner of the feed won't be able to help. She is on weebly for a reason. So, somehow I just found this post from April of 2016 with the same issue and he says using feed rinse is a fix. That's great and I went and took a look, but I have no idea how to use anything from there with auto blog. I left a reply, but that was awhile back, not sure if I will hear from him on how to do that.

"I have found a solution, which I will post here in case others have problems with Autoblog and an unusual RSS feed. There is a free site, http://www.feedrinse.com, which will take an RSS feed and clean it up. I gave it the Weebly feed, and it produces a clean feed with which Autoblog has no problems whatsoever.

So, if you find yourself with a non-standard RSS feed that Autoblog doesn't want to process, consider cleaning up the feed with feedrinse.com."

Any idea how to do whatever it is he did with auto blog and feed rinse?

    Hi Kim,

Hope you are doing good today.

Any idea how to do whatever it is he did with auto blog and feed rinse?

Once you signup into feedrinse, you'll have to add your feed, and click the import button, as shown below:

Then click the create a channel link, and create a channel name, and save. Once created, select the feed for your channel, and click save changes.

Under your channels tab, click the RSS symbol, and select your aggregator, clicking FeedDemon will direct you to a new rinsed url, which you can add as the Feed URL in the Autoblog plugin, inorder for the feeds to work.

I checked this in my system, and it seems to work. Please let us know if you still need any further assistance. Have a nice weekend.

    Kind Regards,
    Nithin

This is the feed I got and put into auto blog http://www.feedrinse.com/services/rinse/?rinsedurl=0a858ae0dd5082bf829b7dd94b082393 This one also works at the w3c validator but not with my plugin. I get this error http://www.feedrinse.com/services/readinglist/?mid=c17536e6ff76a79bf51b1df47f2d423c. This does not appear to be a valid RSS or Atom feed.

What did I do wrong? I'm beginning to think there is something wrong with my plugin. I have tried to delete and reinstall, but it's not helping.

    Hi Kim,

Hope you are doing good today.

I tested your rinsed url, and it doesn't work in my system too. Could you please try the url that I have generated, and check whether it works. I didn't test this url in your website, since I'm not sure how you wan't it populated, and didn't wanna generate any autoblogs, if it's a live website.

Please let us know how that goes, have a nice weekend.

    Best Regards,

    Hi NIthin,

I used your feed url and it is pulling something, but I am not sure where the posts are. The auto blog dashboard shows it pulled only two posts. I have it set for rss posts to go into pending status, and publish date to be the feed date, but I see no posts when I look at my All Posts. One other thing , when I try to process the feed. It doesn't say "just now" it shows to have processed 12 hours ago.

Please, feel free to go into dashboard and try to process the feed. It's set to put them in pending.

Hi Kim, hope you had a wonderful day.

Well, I've just talked to our developer regarding this and he confirmed that this is expected behavior. Autoblog is a feed reader, not a scrapper. Autoblog posts what's available in the feed. If your feed provides only excerpt, then Autoblog won't be able to pull full posts, which is happening in your case.

Please let us know if you have any confusion. We will be glad to help.

    Have a nice day. Cheers!
