fixing a malware'd site ughhhhhhhh, please help…..

So despite my issues with events + or appointments which tend to be small compared to an attack on my site over this weekend. I've managed to "hopefully" stop the access to my wp multisite by using defender and going through it. i've also logged in to my ftp public_html folder and found some files and deleted them. thinking those were the root cause, however, i still have several files, that are affected. namely header files and some footer files. i'm hoping i can get some help from y'all on how to fix/correct/delete them. i don't know php except for when i'm told take "this code" and place it "here" right above "here or there" i can see how the files are affected i'll include a screen shot of one of the here…

Please help ASAP.

Thank You,

    Hello Adrian,

I’m sorry to hear that your site was hacked. In those cases here is step by step tutorial on how to proceed

    Another guide

If your themes files are affected then (after taking backup of the hacked site) you should replace them with latest versions from repository or from developer, this also applies for the plugins.

I scanned your site in and right now it shows that site is clean.

    kind regards,

Thank you Kasia, I'm currently working towards getting this fixed. The sites are up and running. Just need to clean up some of the pages. I have a list of which files I need to either delete or edit. However, I'm wondering if you can help me on a related topic.

    1. when i do a search for one of my sited on google, say i get a 404 error i.e.

    but it searches like this…

how can I correct this. i'm told it's a htaccess file error, but unsure how to correct it.

    2. however, when i enter the direct url of one of my sites it resolves to the correct site

Can you help me with this related issue?

    Thank You,

    Hi Adrian,

Hope you are doing good today.

I’ve cleaned up all malware files and now just need to figure out the question above with the htaccess file. unsure where to go from there.

Glad to know you got your system cleaned up. Regarding the htaccess issue, I’m not sure whether I follow you. I tried to access the mentioned website, through the support access, and I wasn’t able to notice any 404 error. Even Google search seems show correctly, have you fixed this?

If not, please advise what I’m missing, and we’ll make sure to help get you sorted asap.

    Kind Regards,
