For those tempted to switch to InMotion, read this first

InMotion is generally considered a safe haven for those running from BlueHost, Dreamhost, or EIG owned properties in general. They were great when I found them but that is no longer the case.

This is my LENGTHY rant about what happened this weekend

A CSR rep at InMotion decided the folder called /hosted/ was storing site backups and started deleting data. This resulted in a meltdown on the level of being hacked but it was actually more inconvenient because I had to work from S3 backups and transfer them to a completely different host. It was a ton of manual work.

As a member of this community, I just wanted to take a moment and share the experience since I know a LOT of you will be considering making that exact switch (to InMotion) after BlueHost's complete blackout on Saturday.

They're an improvement over BlueHost and Dreamhost but you can still do better.

Details in the post.
