Freebie: Clean administration theme

A simple and clean administration theme, inspired from the new customizer look of WorPress 3.4.1

Yes, I wanted something minimal and after 1-2 hours I ended up with this...
An extra plus is also that when switching to the theme customizer and back the environment is pretty similar so the experience is the same.

And there are a few MarketPress customizations too... Particularly when editing orders. :slight_smile:

It was done in a bit of a rush but still I like the end result!

@sachingopalakrishnan I see you visited my personal site... I never finished building it and haven't updated it in more than 8 months (and I'm pretty ashamed of it too), I've been too busy!

I believe there's a right tool for every job...
So I do some projects on drupal and some on wordpress!

Hello @aristath thanks for your contributation here. I look forward to checking it out next week when I have some free time. I see you location is working and had to make the comment that my wife actually spent a week over in Greece on a mission trip and was able to spend a day or 2 in Athens. She really loved the countryside and the people there. Especially the lady who invited her in and treated her to the Monastiri Vanilla Preserve. Great stuff! We had some shipped over here so I could enjoy as well.

I just pasted the admin.css contents into the Ultimate branding plugin, after my own changes, and it worked like a charm!

So no extra plugin that way.

I've taken a note from what you've done and I came up with this:

#adminmenu li.wp-not-current-submenu .wp-menu-arrow div {background: #E4E4E4 !important;}

It keeps the menu mostly intact, and keeps the collapsible functionality (Good for my mobile version of the site) but it hides the Icons, unless it's compacted.

Also, it adds some cool looking inverted arrows :slight_smile:

Still crammed looking, I may space it out some more like you did.

Keep up the good work, I'm watching it on github.

Hello @aristath I have another issue that I may be overlooking somthing. I'll attach a screenshot. On the left menu In the master of the multisite I can see the whole menu and options. On the sub sites It looks like this and I can't get to all of the menu items

@Dean Kaus In case you have sites registration disabled, you could also just create a test site on this network and provide a username and password with access to the dashboard... :slight_smile:

you can go to http://www.kaushost.com/wp-admin/users.php press edit under my username and on the page that will appear, you can set my level.

main logon page should be http://www.kaushost.com/wp-admin/ sometimes you have to enter it a second time if it shows a standard wp theme instead of dashboard. Not sure why this happens and bluehost can't seem to explain it either.

I have access now, thank you!

The problem is that you have both this plugin and the "Fluency Admin" theme.

Fluency was really excellent but unfortunately has been abandoned by it's developer and has not been updated in more than a year. On top of that, It is not compatible with wordpress since version 3.3 (you currently have v 3.4.1) so all you have to do is network-disable this plugin and everything will work just fine. :slight_smile:

Great Thanks! I forgot about that plugin. It's was really nice to be able to change colors so it's easier to remember which page/site I'm working on. i'll give that a try.

@aristath Thanks for considering this. I know it was a big help when I'm working late and trying to update 3 different websites. It was a nice feature to be able to use the company's color so when I'm jumping back and forth between word or other programs and pasting stuff that I'm on the right site.

I think adding some options to the plugin might be cool, but for me I'm just dropping css in the ultimate branding.

As a completely separate standalone plugin, I think something like this has been missing for a long time!

I mean, theme's have option panels, why not have a options panel for admin styles?

I could help setup the options panel and make sure the settings are applied network wide...

It's actually really easy to do.

new little bug discovered with my hide/show icons trick. It's missing a media query for when the screen is <900px wide. It collapses automatically, but the icons are still hidden.

Should be a simple fix, but I'm crashing for the night...
