Hi there,

any idea how this site makes captions appear by each dog on their home page as you hover over the dogs?

I'm note sure it's a WordPress site but would love some direction if anyone knows have to enable this.

  • Fullworks
    • The Bug Hunter

They have multiple images, each image has a transparent background.

Then each dog is a <div> and <a> link and positioned over the over all background image. The they are using css a:hover to change the 'background' sprite to bring the image of the speech bubble into play.

A good example of creative css without the need for flash.

The site was built with Medialab Sitewinder 3, a tool to build websites from photoshop images.

Photoshop = $699 + Sitewinder = $347 = $1046 for the tools if you want to go that way!

Alternatively it would have to be custom coded for a particular image, the image sliced up into smaller images etc. The coding isn't hard, but unless you are happy with photoshop (or cheaper image editors, such as the excellent and free Paint.Net), html & css I'd get someone who is to do it for you. That custom html/css could easily be dropped into wordpress page or used in the header template as required.

Thank NAME, for their help.

Let NAME know exactly why they deserved these points.

Gift a custom amount of points.
