Fundraisings URL not found

Hi,

I’m trying to configure fundraising plugin, but in settings at the Presentation tab, I have an url in “Fundraising Directory Location” option, if I put this url at the navigator, wordpress say me that this page not exists.

On the other hand, if in settings at the Others tab i select “yes” on the “Add fundraising directory to menu?” option, when I go to the Appearence->Menu, don’t appear this page to the page’s menus

can you help me please?

    Greetings jgonzaleznozzle,

Sorry to hear that you are having trouble with the Fundraising plugin.

The first thing we should check is your permalinks which should be set at anything but default and preferably /%postname%/ for SEO reasons. Even if they are already set to this please reset them by saving them again.

The next thing to check is what URL you are using in the admin dashboard –> Fundraising –> Settings –> Permalink Settings

    Screen shot attached below.

    Please advise.

    Cheers, Joe

    Thanks aecnu,

I have this config at the plugin's permalink (1.jpg), if I put this url at the navigator, wordpress tell me that not found this page (2.jpg).

Can you tell me where can i do this? -> "The first thing we should check is your permalinks which should be set at anything but default and preferably /%postname%/ for SEO reasons. Even if they are already set to this please reset them by saving them again."

The other thing I say you is when I select yes at this option (3.jpg) the page of this plugin not appear at the menús section, in the pages list (4.jpg)

    Thanks

    Greetings jgonzaleznozzle,

Thank you for your additional input and your screen shots.

The menu selection you pointed out will be theme related, but first we need to get the URL functioning.

The permalinks setting that you want to reset to hopefully get the URL working (which is our first issue to deal with) is not the one in your screen shot but the one when logged into the admin dashboard –> Setting –> Permalinks –> Permalink Settings be sure to click the save changes button to reset them.

    Screen shot below.

Please advise if once this is set as indicated in the screen shot and saved if the fundraiser URL then works as expected. i.e. http://yourdomain.com/fundraisers

    Cheers, Joe

    Greetings jgonzaleznozzle,

I am sorry that I missed attaching my screen shot as I have below.

    My sincere apology.

However, it seems that you got the permalinks exactly right with the second screen shot above.

Are you running any kind of cache or caching on your MultiSite installation?

If so please clear the caching so we can see the real resonse if there is of course caching enabled.

I know we are digging deep into this and it is my suspicion at this moment that the problem is either cache or the fact you are using a sub domain of a sub domain and this is in effect a DNS problem.

I cannot replicate this on my installation, actually it worked perfect right out of the box:

    Please advise.

    Thaks aecnu,

i’m working with the W3 Total Cache plugin, I clean all the cache, but the url still not working.

I have seen that your url is working perfectly, but in my installation with you config still not running.

There is some option or incompatibility that make it’s not running yet.

Any idea or other config you know for make this running?

    Thanks

    Greetings jgonzaleznozzle,

I agree that there is some incompatibility issue going on here and cannot figure out what it is though I suspect it is the sub domain of a sub domain of a regular domain that is causing this issue.

That the compatibility problem I mentioned above can be caused by permalinks, W3 Cache, or DNS itself.

Therefore I am going to see if I can get the lead developer in here with his invaluable insight and see if he may have any advice/advise us as to what may be causing this issue or a cure.

Though this may take a bit longer then a normal ticket, I will try to get him in here asap.

    Cheers, Joe

    Thaks Joe,

I think the problem not is the DNS, I think is another question because I have the QA plugin installed and its permalinks function perfectly, and others plugins with permalinks and the fundraiser plugin is the first with problems at permalinks.

It’s posible there are any bug at this part of the plugin, the config for domains is the default for multiplatform.

    Greetings jgonzaleznozzle,

It’s posible there are any bug at this part of the plugin, the config for domains is the default for multiplatform.

This I do not think so because it would be a first for the literally hundreds of people using this plugin. But anything is possible especially since you are using a subdomain of a subdomain.

I also showed you that mine is indeed working and it is on a MultiSite installation.

the config for domains is the default for multiplatform.

I have no idea what this means immediately above.

We shall see what the lead developer has to say about this ticket since I have indeed already asked him to make an appearance here to let us know what may be going wrong with this URL problem.

    Cheers, Joe

Although I put at the plugin config that the page appears at the page directory, it never appears, and I think the DNS config can do that this url load, but it can’t do that the page appears at the page directory.

I think it’s a bug or anything of the plugin config.

    Can you help me.

I only have this plugin activate.

    Thanks

    Greetings jgonzaleznozzle,

Thank you for your additional feedback.

I have indeed asked the lead developer to come in here, being he is in the uS and it is the 4th of July holiday there, we will probably not hear from him until tomorrow.

I am 99% sure that all of your problems are a server/hosting issue and that it is not you sir nor the plugin.

    Who is the host?

Is it linux or Windows do you know?

    Please advise.

    Cheers, Joe

    Greetings jgonzaleznozzle,

Thank you for that additional information, it is greatly appreciated.

Though this was not the information I was looking for, it explains the reason for the anomalies.

@cole heads up on his hosting and why I believe we are experiencing the bizarre anomalies as demostrated by the hosting enviroment indicated below.

The hosting is being done in Ireland on IP 46.137.123.186 with Amazon Web Services, Elastic Compute Cloud, EC2, EU

The activity you have detected originates from a dynamic hosting environment.

Being a professional network and server specialist the above explains it all for me and the bizarre behavior.

Considering that it is indeed my duty to bring in the lead developer on issues that I cannot resolve, which I have fulfilled as indicated above, I retreat on any further action on my part considering the hosting environment and the obvious unpredictability thereof of said environment in firm belief that any further action on my part is just spinning my wheels.

Thank you for being a WPMU Dev Member!

    Cheers, Joe

If you could answer Coles question that will help us to help you further.

Have you created a fundraiser yet? Your theme might be showing a 404 page not found because there are no fundraisers to display yet.

It does indeed seem odd that you do not get the page when no other plugins are enabled and using the default theme.

If doing as Cole suggests does not work would you mind if I take a closer look?

    Thanks.

Hey there, hope you are well!

Just checking in to see how things are going and if you need further assistance.

If you do then please feel free to reopen this thread and include a screenshot of your permalinks page which Cole would like to see.

Ok this seems to be directly related to using a sub directory install of multisite. There is some mention of this issue with others in WordPress trac. Would you be willing to send some temporary login information to cole@incsub.com so I can get this fixed up for everyone? Please don’t post it here for security reasons obviously .

    Greetings edwardhadome,

Lmao – there is always hope though I admit for things like Windows Vista I lean towards the no hope side – but Windows 7 came out … lol

As I said, there is always hope though some times things take longer to happen then we hope

So I have a fix for this in my 2.1.9 beta. I’ve re-uploaded it here since I can’t seem to find the thread anymore. Please test this first as I have made necessary changes to the translation files as well as a few other things. This version will be made final as soon as I finish testing.
