Google Cloud CDN and Smush integration

Please consider integrating Smush plugin with Google Cloud CDN. Unfortunately, the Cloudflare and Amazon data centres still run (at least partially) on fossil fuel energy whereas the Google infrastructure runs on 100% renewable energy – and I try to avoid fossil fuel CDNs.

    Hi Ben,

Hope you are doing good today.

I’m bringing this into our developers attention, so they could look into the aspects of implementing this down the plugins roadmap. Thanks for the feature request, we do really appreciate.

Have a nice day ahead.

    Regards,

    Hello there Ben,

    hope you’re doing well!

Smush should be able to work with any CDN service, as long as you don’t use the Smush CDN but the Bulk Smush. By doing so, your images are getting optimized in your local server, then any CDN service can serve these from their servers. Please keep in mind that this won’t include the premium services that are included in Smush CDN though and that’s Automatic Resizing and WebP support.

    Hope that clarifies things better!

    Thank you,

    Dimitris
