Google Sitelinks

Is there anything we can do to get google site links to show up for our websites?

If I am correct, the site links are based on algorithms.

However, are there things we can do to help this algorithm along to get site links?

    Greetings Sean,

Thank you for this great question and a significant item to bring up.

However, are there things we can do to help this algorithm along to get site links?

This is a very controversial subject though there may be some things that will help like a sitemap for example that hands the search engine your web site links on a silver platter, but that does not mean they will take all of them.

The algorithm's are basically top secret, and they change them often in which what works one day fails miserably the next.

A plugin like Infinite SEO plugin or Simple Sitemaps for Multisite plugin should do this job very well.

Personally I do not use sitemaps to this day after an experiment I did a couple of years ago and found more links to be appearing without a sitemap then those with a site map on a percentage base.

Though my sites seem to do relatively well, I only use SEO Doctor Firefox plugin and Firebug with Page Speed to check my sites for SEO properties in which links are one of them.

Coincidentally there is an article explaining some of what I mentioned above about the ups and downs of SEO ranking which you may want to check out:

Hopefully all of this will help you get the SEO goal that you seek.

    Cheers, Joe
