I've created a new Child Theme of Grid Market and I've customized a few things in this theme, but I need to know how to get information about the current product page that I am viewing. On my sidebar I am displaying the Global Categories and when someone clicks that it brings up the products, but I want to be able to know which category they are viewing and highlight it on the side bar.

Is it also possible to have the search function search all the categories and products that are in the Global Marketplace on my site.

(I've submitted a screenshot of the menu.)

Thank you,

For #2 post indexer plus the plugin mentioned by Eric should do the trick.

#1, can we get a look at your custom theme? WordPress often gives a body class to individual pages, you maybe able to use that to highlight the corresponding category in the sidebar (you'd just need to assign each link it's own corresponding class.

    Let us know.
