In BuddyPress, I need the ability for users to enter metadata about a group when it is created. My plan is to use Gravity Forms to create a New Group form. This form would contain all the fields that need to be filled in about the group. And then the metadata needs to be persisted, of course, as well as being searchable, viewable, etc.
I'm an experienced programmer, but I'm new to the whole WordPress/BuddyPress ecosystem. Can anyone point me in the right direction and offer a roadmap to accomplish this? There seems to be virtually no documentation at http://codex.buddypress.org/developer-docs/functions/.
I've seen http://codex.buddypress.org/developer-docs/group-extension-api/, but I am not sure where to go from there. It's written for someone with a lot more experience than I have. Does anyone know of a more beginner-oriented article?
