GZIP compression not working

Good morning,

I am trying to compress files with gzip, but I am getting an error.
My site is not live yet, and I was wanting to compress files in order to duplicate my site for the move over to a live site.

So sorry to hear the inconvenience you are having. As the suggestions are saying, can you please confirm your Apache server has "mod_deflate" module enabled? If no, can you please enable "mod_deflate" on your server and check if the issue is resolved?

Moreover, just to make sure no other plugin is causing this, can you please do a plugin conflict test? To know more about plugin conflict test, you can check this guide: http://premium.wpmudev.org/manuals/using-wpmu-dev/getting-support/

Sorry, I should have included this in my previous reply.

To find out if your server has mod_deflate enabled, you need to create a file in the root directory of your server. Name it "info.php". Open the file, and paste the following code in that file and save.

phpinfo();
?>
```
Now open your browser and go to "http://yoursite.com/info.php". Please replace "yoursite.com" with your actual domain. It should show the complete PHP information.

If your server has "mod_deflate" enabled, then you will find that in the "Loaded Modules" box. Please check the attached screenshot for reference.

If you don't have "mod_deflate" enabled, you can check these tutorials to know how you can enable it:
