    Hello Brett Combs,

I hope you are well today.

How you setup Gzip will depend on your server configuration. For example, with Apache on cPanel, you will need to go into Optmize Website and select Compress All Content. This is assuming mod_deflate is properly enabled on your server.

Can you please tell me what kind of hosting you have? cPanel? Plesk? Other? What company are you hosting with? (This can actually make a big difference as 1and1 requires you to contact them to enable Gzip.)

Once you've verified that the correct settings are configured on your hosting account, you should just be able to click Enable in Hummingbird for Gzip and the required rules will be added to your .hatccess.

You can verify Gzip functionality through using a tool like GTMetrix. See: https://gtmetrix.com/enable-gzip-compression.html

If you would like me to login and take a look for you, please enable Support Staff Login. You can learn how to do so at the following link: https://premium.wpmudev.org/docs/getting-started/getting-support/#chapter-4

Please reply back here once you've enabled access so I will be notified.

I look forward to hearing back from you!

    Best regards,

    James Morris
