    Hello Honoré

    Welcome to WPMU community!

    I hope you are well today and thanks for asking the question.

    To create 4 column, I assume you want to have 4 widgets in footer. For that, you need to edit codes a bit.

    1. Copy the folder "lib" from your parent theme to child theme.
    2. /themes/wpmu-triden-child/lib/templates/wp-template/custom-homepage.php line no 83 to 820, replace with the following:

    <div id=&quot;bottom-content&quot;>
    <div id=&quot;tab-content&quot;>

        <div class=&quot;tab-widget-left&quot;>
            <ul class=&quot;list&quot;>
            <?php if ( is_active_sidebar( 'bottom-left' ) ) : ?>
            <?php dynamic_sidebar( 'bottom-left' ); ?>
            <?php else: ?>
            <li>
            <h3><?php _e('Bottom Left Widget', TEMPLATE_DOMAIN); ?></h3>
            <ul>
            <li><?php printf(__('All you need to do is to visit your <a href=&quot;%s/widgets.php&quot;>widget</a> tab replace this with your widget', TEMPLATE_DOMAIN), admin_url()); ?></li>
            </ul>
            </li>
            <?php endif; ?>
            </ul>

            <?php locate_template (array('/lib/templates/wp-template/tab-content.php'), true); ?>
        </div>
        <div class=&quot;tab-widget-right&quot;>
            <?php if ( is_active_sidebar( 'bottom-left-2' ) ) : ?>
            <?php dynamic_sidebar( 'bottom-left-2' ); ?>
            <?php else: ?>
            <li>
            <h3><?php _e('Bottom Left 2 Widget', TEMPLATE_DOMAIN); ?></h3>
            <ul>
            <li><?php printf(__('All you need to do is to visit your <a href=&quot;%s/widgets.php&quot;>widget</a> tab replace this with your widget', TEMPLATE_DOMAIN), admin_url()); ?></li>
            </ul>
            </li>
            <?php endif; ?>
            </ul>
        </div>
    </div>

    <div id=&quot;editor-content&quot;>
    <div class=&quot;tab-widget-left&quot;>
        <ul class=&quot;list&quot;>
        <?php if ( is_active_sidebar( 'bottom-right' ) ) : ?>
        <?php dynamic_sidebar( 'bottom-right' ); ?>
        <?php else: ?>
        <li>
        <h3><?php _e('Bottom Right Widget', TEMPLATE_DOMAIN); ?></h3>
        <ul>
        <li><?php printf(__('All you need to do is to visit your <a href=&quot;%s/widgets.php&quot;>widget</a> tab replace this with your widget', TEMPLATE_DOMAIN), admin_url()); ?></li>
        </ul>
        </li>
        <?php endif; ?>
        </ul>
    </div>
    <div class=&quot;tab-widget-right&quot;>
        <ul class=&quot;list&quot;>
        <?php if ( is_active_sidebar( 'bottom-right-2' ) ) : ?>
        <?php dynamic_sidebar( 'bottom-right-2' ); ?>
        <?php else: ?>
        <li>
        <h3><?php _e('Bottom Right Widget', TEMPLATE_DOMAIN); ?></h3>
        <ul>
        <li><?php printf(__('All you need to do is to visit your <a href=&quot;%s/widgets.php&quot;>widget</a> tab replace this with your widget', TEMPLATE_DOMAIN), admin_url()); ?></li>
        </ul>
        </li>
        <?php endif; ?>
        </ul>
    </div>

    </div>
    </div>

    3. Create a file "functions.php" in your child theme root, and paste the following code in there:

    <?php
      register_sidebar(array(
    'name'=>__('Bottom-Left-2',TEMPLATE_DOMAIN),
    'id'=> 'bottom-left-2',
    'description'=> __('Bottom Left Widget 2', TEMPLATE_DOMAIN),
    'before_widget' => '<li id=&quot;%1$s&quot; class=&quot;widget %2$s&quot;>',
    'after_widget' => '</li>',
    'before_title' => '<h3>',
    'after_title' => '</h3>',
    ));

    register_sidebar(array(
    'name'=>__('Bottom-Right-2',TEMPLATE_DOMAIN),
    'id'=> 'bottom-right-2',
    'description'=> __('Bottom Right Widget-2', TEMPLATE_DOMAIN),
    'before_widget' => '<li id=&quot;%1$s&quot; class=&quot;widget %2$s&quot;>',
    'after_widget' => '</li>',
    'before_title' => '<h3>',
    'after_title' => '</h3>',
    ));

    4. In style.css of your child theme put the following code:

    .tab-widget-left{
        width: 49%;
        float: left;
    }

    .tab-widget-right{
        width: 49%;
        float: right;
    }

    And I think you are good to go. You have now four widget areas and you can use them.

    Please feel free to ask if you have any more question.

    Cheers
    Ash
