Help with Multisite

I have added a second site to my network as a subdirectory (gamewasher.com/mopwasher). I want to map this site to the url: mopwasher.com. I am not sure how to do this.

I also cannot access the dashboard for this second site. I get the error: This page isn’t working. gamewasher.com redirected you too many times.
I'd appreciate any help! Thanks!

    Hi Michael

    Hope you are doing well.

Too many redirects can indicate an htaccess problem.

Please, verify your htaccess and make sure it contains the subsite htaccess, you can also recreate the htaccess to make sure it will contain the default WordPress rules.

You can learn more about the WordPress htaccess https://wordpress.org/support/article/htaccess/

About domain mapping, since WordPress 4.5 we don't need a plugin for mapping, we will need to take 2 steps.

    Step one - Domain pointing.

I can see you have the cPanel on your account, first of all, I suggest you contact your hosting provider and ask for a dedicated IP where we can point the new domain using A record.

Once getting the IP, please, add the domain as an add-on domain on your hosting,

point the domain to this hosting using A record and CNAME to this IP.

You can learn more about pointing the A and CNAME record on this post.
    https://premium.wpmudev.org/blog/domain-mapping-wordpress/

We have the steps to point to our hosting but it can help to your hosting too.
    https://premium.wpmudev.org/docs/hosting/dns-and-domain-management/

    Step two - Domain Mapping

Once the A and CNAME record propagated and working fine pointed to your Hosting we can map your subsite.

Go to the WordPress dashboard > Network > All Sites and find the one that you want to map, over the URL and you will see the edit option.

    Add your custom Link.

And save settings, now your domain is mapped to your subsite.

Complete guide on WordPress documentation can be found on.

If after resetting the htaccess you still have too many redirect problems, please, send us some information and we can take a closer look for you.

    Thank you Patrick!
I tried the steps above, but now I cannot even access the Network Admin anymore. I am getting logged out each time I try to click to go to my sites. I've sent you the login info as requested.
    I really appreciate your help!

    Hi Michael

    Hope you are doing well.

    Thank you for the credentials.

I was able to fix your redirect problem.

I redefined your Multisite Htaccess also commented some extra rules that were causing the problem.

You also had the www version on your PREFIX_options and non-www version on other database tables, after fixing it we now are able to access the network as well.

You can keep mapping your subsite following the thread reply, https://premium.wpmudev.org/forums/topic/help-with-multisite-10#post-1409969

Let us know if you need any further help on this.
    Best Regards
