Hey tastebuddies! Welcome to the WPMU Dev Community!

is there any plugin/theme for hotel booking / hotelpress in WPMU?

We do have an events plugin coming, but I depending on your requirements I'm not sure how well it would work for hotel bookings.

Usually I would envisage that as being something in depth where a room is booked, it gets marked unavailable, but users can then check on other room availability.

You could give that a try once released, I know it should be soon although I cannot give a firm eta on that.

There are other options, although I couldn't vouch for these and this one looks expensive:

    Then this theme:

    And a free one:

is it possible to turn off the shopping cart features in market press but maintain the product cataloge type.

Yes that is most certainly possible.

    Product Listings Only:

This option turns MarketPress into more of a product listing plugin, disabling shopping carts, checkout, and order management. This is useful if you simply want to list items you can buy in a store somewhere else, optionally linking the "Buy Now" buttons to an external site. Some examples are a car dealership, or linking to songs/albums in itunes, or linking to products on another site with your own affiliate links.

This is in the admin of the store:

    Admin --> Products --> Settings

    Hope this helps.

    Take care.

    Hey again.

Regarding the online booking for hotel Thanks for the info!
Would you recommend this theme ---------->

I've never used their themes so I couldn't personally recommend them but saying that I wouldn't say no either.

Looks like they have some sweet themes though. I tried clicking on one of their buttons to subscribe but get the 404 error:

I dropped them a mail about it. Love some of the designs though!!

Regarding market press! Thank you!! am super exited to try it! Is it also possible to import .CSV for the products part? and if so what could be the possible 'variables' for prices and etc.

It doesn't yet support import, but it is planned. That said I know people have successfully imported:

Alternatively, TurboCSV is a premium pluing that can import any custom post type, not just MarketPress products, so it can work for importing pretty much anything into WordPress.
And fortunately, an awesome member from the site here provided a file for use with TurboCSV and MarketPress in the following thread.

This was posted by DavidM in another thread.

And finally, another member here named BlueNet made some awesome release specifically for importing into MarketPress:

    WordPress Plugin Download
    Development Website Link
CSVisual (CSV uploader with Visual field Mapping)

MarketPress will do variations, but it depends on how complex you are wanting to get. Future versions will bring enhanced options for this.

Thanks Tim i really appreciate WPMU support!!

    You are most welcome!

    Hi Support!

Thanks for the links... i tried BlueNet's plugin.. I got confused on CSVisual part.. the config the database part to be specific

'Simply download the files, define database settings in, then load index.php in your browser.'

Where will i define the database settings? I am currently working on the local host.

According to the read me. txt file
    How to install:
    1. Create a database and a table<strong> ------ is this a new one?
    2. Define database settings in -------which settings settings on my local host or not?
    3. Turn ON 'file_uploads' option in php.ini, if not already set
    4. (optional) Check that 'upload_max_filesize' option in php.ini is big enough (for example, 100M - 100 megabytes)

I know its not part of the wpmu marketpress but i hope you can help me on this.
because i really have a lot of products to upload. Thanks in advance!

    God bless.

Ah... figured it... Need to add my SQL database details and then upload the CSVisual files to wordpress. Bit disappointed this doesn't map custom fields as things like retailer etc are qute important for affiliate link sites and not included as standard product fields. Getting brave now, so going to check out the code and see if I can hack without destroying it.

Thank NAME, for their help.

Let NAME know exactly why they deserved these points.

Gift a custom amount of points.
