How can I let non-registered users ask/answer questions on Q&A

Hello there - I'm looking to use Q&A to allow non-registered users to ask/answer questions. Is this possible? If so, how?

One nice twist would be is if they had to be subscribed to our mailing list (held with MailChimp) in order to ask/answer. Again, is this possible?

C'mon WPMU you've not let me down yet...

(FYI it's for iamstaggered.com not wearethedads.com but I've not installed it on Staggered yet.)

    Greetings iamstaggered,

This is absolutely possible though you will certainly regret it when you see the mountains of spam coming your way that you will have to deal with on a daily basis not to mention the Viagra ads etc.

To set this up go to the admin dashboard --> Settings --> Assign capabilities section --> from the drop down box choose visitor --> then check mark below Ask questions and Add answers options.

Thank you for being a WPMU Dev Member!

    Cheers, Joe

    Greetings iamstaggered,

That is truly bizarre regarding the post notifications and nobody else is saying anything about it. However, this could simply be because they are not paying attention.

Any way of tying it to the MailChimp signup. It just seems like a good point to take their email.

I would say just about anything is possible concerning coding if the coder can have the vision and enough talent to develop the code and debug it. Of course persistence and vision is key.

One may consider MailChimp Integration plugin to use to force non logged in people to be forced to submit their email address. Of course this will take a vast amount of custom coding.

It would be smarter in my opinion to just make them register anyway.

Thank you for being a WPMU Dev Member!
