how do I actually download a Snapshot so I can transfer

Hi, how do I actually download a Snapshot so I can transfer files? Thanks!

  • Tyler Postle

    Hey Danny,

Hope you're doing well today and thanks for your question!

You can just click on the .zip file in the snapshot archive to download the snapshots

Or you can go through FTP and navigate to:

    /wp-content/uploads/snapshots

They should all be stored there as well.

What files are you wanted to transfer?

If you're planning on migrating a site then you will need to create a new WordPress install in the destination location, then install snapshot there and upload your snapshot to the snapshots folder I just mentioned above.

Once that is does you can visit the snapshots list inside the site and restore that snapshot

Hope that helps! Let us know if you have any further questions here.

    All the best,
    Tyler

    Hi there Tyler,

Thanks! I am actually trying to create a file for migration, but can't access my existing domain through FTP as not being recognized (and my hosts aren't being very communicative at the minute).

Does snapshot allow me to create a file with the following? (this is a support exchange with my new hosts):

It appears that the provided .zip file is containing separate database table dumps instead of your WP-content directory files.

    Thanks!

    Danny.
