How do I insert a shortcode into a page? Examples please.

How do I insert an event into a page? I've seen the Events Shortcodes page, but there's no hint as to the syntax to use and I've tried lots of versions (some examples on the page would have been very helpful). E.g., do I do '[eab_single slug:bright-futures-e0]' (doesn't work, although I got the slug via Quick Edit), '[eab_single slug-bright-futures-e0]' (doesn't work), '[eab_single slug bright-futures-e0]' (doesn't work), or if I go for the id option, where do I get the id numbers and how do I use them?

    Greetings urapp4it,

    Welcome to WPMU DEV!

Thank you for the question in which you would simply put the short code in the spot that you want the codes contents to display.

but there's no hint as to the syntax to use

    [shortcode_name parameter1="xxx" parameter2="yyy"]

I would have given examples but I am not quite sure what you are trying to do.

if I go for the id option, where do I get the id numbers and how do I use them?

The ID you get by hovering over the event/post and the browser indicates the post ID number.

You may want to employ the ShowID for Post/Page/Category/Tag/Comment plugin for this purpose.

Let us know how it goes.

    Cheers, Joe
