How do I show the Directory I created using Directory Plugin

Dear WPMUDEV:
I am finding that the instruction and the interface of the plug ins I have tried very difficult to understand. From the user stand point, most instructions and the way the plug ins are designed are not for easy implementation.

I am trying to use the directory plug in. I have imported taxonomies and added one listing but I am unable to see the "front end" or directory page. How do I show this?

I am currently using WPMU Nelo 2.1.7 theme right now.
The url is http://www.exanderson.com

http://exanderson.com/listing/netsolver/

I added this listing but the url does not show and I just dont understand how it works.
Help please

Phil: It would be nice if the Directory theme would allow me to modify the homepage and also other parts that appear on the homepage....... I want to use the directory but do not want to be bound to use the theme. Is there a work around this?

    thanks

thanks for the answer but I need I will have to hire someone who knows coding.. This is not what I expected out of your plug ins. They are products that need mastery of WP, and as I suspect you might want me to hire someone to fix all my issues. there has to be an easy fix. All plug ins should work "out-of-the-box". Users should not be wasting time figuring out how to make a plug-in to work. Besides, so many plug ins conflict with each other and you must use a certain theme for some plug ins to work. Too complex, do difficult. Not easy to understand. Please improve

    Hiya,

The Directory plugin does indeed work out of the box - that's why it comes with a pre-designed theme especially for that purpose.

All the directory listings should also be visible in any other theme you choose to use. If you want to make your existing theme show the directory listings in a certain way then you will need to custom code that.

We cannot provide specific themeing for every other theme, it's just not feasible which is why we provide a ready built theme.

You are then free either to tweak that theme or your existing theme. Either way, you are asking for bespoke functionality which we can't feasibly provide.

As Directory uses custom posts, you will be able to look at the default archive page for directory listings.

For example you can go to example.com/listings and all your listings will be displayed in the same way that your theme display normal posts.

Then, you can follow the guidelines for creating a bespoke archive template for your listings to have them display as you wish:
