How do you change where the links point in the studio themes buddypress dropdown section?

The forums section in the drop down menu is pointing to the wrong location.

I have updated the buddypress pages section and

the rest of the references to the forums behave correctly.

I also have a menu button: http://joininghands.org.uk/joininghands-forum

that works fine. So it’s just a case of updating this errant entry.

which insists on pointing to: http://joininghands.org.uk/forums/

I believe this was the default before I changed it so it seems that this setting hasn’t updated.

It would also be cool to know how to change these settings more generally if possible, for future reference.

I don’t mind if it means going into the database to change a setting etc .

Thanks in anticipation , Warren

    Greetings Warren,

It is my opinion that the best clean option here would be to use an htaccess redirect such as the one created specifically for you below:

    Redirect 301 /forums/ http://joininghands.org.uk/joininghands-forum

The above line you would probably want to make your first line in your htaccess file.

Please advise if that did the trick.

    Cheers, Joe

Not working out too well so far

    I changed the .htaccess file

    Redirect 301 /forums/

    http://joininghands.org.uk/joininghands-forum

    # BEGIN WordPress

    <IfModule mod_rewrite.c>

    RewriteEngine On

    RewriteBase /

    RewriteRule ^index.php$ – [L]

    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f

    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d

    RewriteRule . /index.php [L]

    </IfModule>

    # END WordPress

Which resulted in getting this error on the site.

    Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator to inform of the time the error occurred and of anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

having investigated the server log with the host it seems the file being redirected to doesn’t exist , but of course it does: http://joininghands.org.uk/joininghands-forum

Which is odd, so i’m looking into that.

Any other ideas in the mean time to get the actual bbpress panel updating as expected. Or in extremis even swapping out the hard-coded link for a working hard coded link?

    Cheers,

    W
