How remove tagline and reduce height of header in Theme

I would like to reduce the height of the header in the theme "Twenty Thirteen". When I go to customize the "header image" there is not option to change the height. I'd also like to remove the display of the tagline. I can only leave a blank tagline which still takes up space. How can I remove the tagline?

    Hey Wilson,

    Hope you're doing well :slight_smile:

    In Twenty Thirteen the header height is actually defined by the home link and it has fixed minimum height, removing tagline will not take up space but since the min-height is defined you will not see any difference.
    What you can do is add some CSS to remove the min-height value and then set up site title padding so it will center it in the header and adjust the height based on that.
    This CSS should do the trick:

    .site-header .home-link {
    	min-height: 0;
    .site-header .home-link h1 {
    	padding: 20px;

    You can go to Appearance > Customize > Additional CSS field and add the code there and you will end up with something like this:

    You can now further adjust the value of padding to set the desired height.

    Hope this helps.
