How to build a WordPress multisite Portal with sharing content ?

Hi,

Would you please help me on the following :
I'd like to have a website running as a multisite :
1. using subdirectories ;

2. having the first/main site working as a portal that will displays and share content (pages, articles, users, menus...) form other subsites ;

3. using different theme for each subsite ;

4. running a social network on a subsite (first choice : BuddyPress, but why not Mingle ?).

My needs are like on this post :

What plugins, and/or which configuration would be the best ?

Thanks.

    Hey there.

    4. BuddyPress is used more widespread, has a fairly big following of users.

    I couldn't speak for Mingle, I don't know what it's like any longer, they may well have changed loads over the years.
