How to enable social login for PopUp plugin

Hey I am using PopUp pro plugin for login in my site.
http://wowdesigns.in/projects/nesties/ (You can tab on "Join Us ") to see the demo.

I have used "Clean Login" plugin's shortcode for the Login form to appear.

Now I want to integrate/enable social login for the same.
Could you please help me doing this?

Hits, suggestions are welcome.

Thanks

    Hello Harsha.wowd,

Your shortcode placement and settings in PopUp Pro were correct and the login form displayed. However, the form did not work because of JavaScript errors. See screenshot: https://goo.gl/FQwhG7

The plugin you selected is not compatible with the latest version of WordPress and has not been updated in a year.

    Compatible up to: 4.3.7
    Last Updated: 1 year ago

Unless you are able to properly debug and update an abandoned plugin, it's generally advised to not use a plugin that is not compatible with the version of WordPress you are running.

Going back to my previous comment, I suggest you take a look at one of the alternative plugins I recommended. Both are compatible with the current version of WordPress and have been recently update. Also, both support Facebook and Twitter authentication natively.

I hope this clarifies a bit more.

    Best regards,

    James Morris

    Thanks James.

When I try to install the recommended plugins.
    https://wordpress.org/plugins/accesspress-social-login-lite/
    https://wordpress.org/plugins/miniorange-login-openid/

    It says
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in /home1/hi2uamit/public_html/wowdesigns.in/projects/nesties/wp-content/plugins/accesspress-social-login-lite/inc/frontend/login_check.php on line 110

Both are not working on my site, can you please help me fix this asap?
I am unable to do anything with this error.

    Thanks

    Hello Harsha.wowd,

I apologize for the delay in responding.

I've been testing this issue out on my own dev servers and have not been able to replicate the problems you are having. I have tested on PHP 5.3.29, PHP 5.6.29 and PHP 7.0.14.

I checked your site and you are running PHP 5.2.17 which is an extremely old version of PHP. PHP 5.2.x is not well supported by many WordPress plugins and is not suitable for production environments as it has not had any security updates in quite a long time. The oldest stable version of PHP you should run is 5.6.x.

When I attempted to log into your cPanel to see if you had an option to upgrade your PHP version or specify a different PHP version using .htaccess, your authentication details you sent me did not work.

Would you please try upgrading your PHP version to at least 5.6.x and see if this issue persists for you. If it does, please double-check your cPanel login details and resend them to me via email.

    Best regards,

    James Morris

    Hello Harsha.wowd,

The previous plugin you were using does not support Twitter authentication.

I've setup the PopUp with AccessPress Social Login Lite. I've only enabled Facebook and Twitter, added the shortcode, and made some CSS tweaks to make the display look better.

However, you will need to configure the social network API settings, as I cannot access those for you.

There are detailed instructions in each section of Admin -> AccessPress Social Login Lite -> Network Settings that will help walk you through getting your API keys so your social network logins will work.

    See screenshot: https://goo.gl/7GPf9g

    I hope this clarifies a bit.

    Hey James, thanks a bunch.

But it should only FB and Twitter login for now.
I don't see default wordpress login.
I need to enable that as well, with social login.
    could you please help me?

Also, the FB appears to be broken here: http://imgur.com/a/Fefhi

Can you please look into these James?

    1. Need WP login and Register (like how this plugin used to work https://wordpress.org/plugins/zm-ajax-login-register/ )
    2. FB needs to be fixed.

    Hello Harsha.wowd,

I was not able to mirror the exact functionality of the ZM Ajax Login Register plugin. I tried setting it up in conjunction with AccessPress Social Login Lite and even without AccessPress Social Login Lite and it still did not function correctly. But again, that is an abandoned plugin and is not likely to continue working with the latest versions of WordPress. Also, that plugin does not support Twitter.

I see you have Clean Login enabled and I did add the shortcode for it and cleaned up the Facebook button CSS a bit. See screenshot: https://goo.gl/rGB9lO

Unfortunately, though, I've been unable to reproduce the Ajax login/register effect of the ZM plugin. Instead, I created a button on the form that leads to your WordPress Login page.

From the research I've done so far, I've been unable to find a current, stable plugin that does the Ajax login/register effect that will work as a shortcode placed in PopUp Pro.

    This looks perfect.

I can use this for now.
    But, one thing.
I can still see this ZM Ajax Login Register plugin popup when you cancel this https://goo.gl/rGB9lO
Just tap on "X" button. Ajax login we can see at the background.

Can you please tell me how to disable this?

    Also, one last thing.
    In About us http://wowdesigns.in/projects/nesties/about-us/
    http://imgur.com/a/8yVcm

When you scroll down you can see "Join Us" button, currently is working on <button class="register-link">Join Us</button> this shortcode.
Can I get the same function here?
On tap of ""Join Us" button https://goo.gl/rGB9lO this should popup.

    This the last thing.

You guys are just awesome James.

    Two things.
    1. http://imgur.com/a/s33jw should be disabled.
    2. How can I achieve this https://goo.gl/rGB9lO on tap of About us -> Join us Button

After the user register, there is no option for him to LogOut.
There should be an option for user to LogOut.

    Hey James/others.

I was able to fix the About Us page as well.

One last thing I am stuck could you please look into it?
    When I Login> Join Us has done as display:none;

When we register URL will go to: http://wowdesigns.in/projects/nesties/#

With the pound sign "#" I want to hide "Join Us" after user register as well.
Also user needs to have logout button.

Could you please help me with this as early as possible?

    Hello Harsha.wowd,

I apologize for the delay in responding to this.

Please note that our ticket feed is in the order of oldest to newest. When you "bump" threads by replying on them multiple times, it puts your ticket to the back of our feed and ends up taking longer for us to reply.

    Re:

With the pound sign "#" I want to hide "Join Us" after user register as well.
Also user needs to have logout button.

This can be accomplished by creating a custom menu link with the URL http://yourdomain.tld/wp-login.php?action=logout

You can then install the plugin Nav Menu Roles (https://wordpress.org/plugins/nav-menu-roles/) and you can hide the Join Us link for logged in users and only show the Logout link for logged in users. More information can be found in the WordPress plugin page.

It looks as though you've figured out how to resolve the other issues you mentioned. Let us know if you have any further questions. We'll be happy to help!

    Thanks James.

I did the way you suggested.

last thing, I have used profile builder plugin for the user to register.

    1. The minute I enter the user details it is not validating at that point(the popup will disappear)
if I have to see it any errors I have to tap on "Join Us" again, I am not sure why:slight_frown:
Can you please tell me why is it happening? Is it cos of PopUp plugin which I have used?

    2. I am not getting any activation Email to my inbox/spam.
I am not sure why :slight_frown:
Without confirming Email I am not able to login :slight_frown:

If I am able to achieve these two I am done with this site, we will be happy to go live.
    Kindly let me know.

    Hello Harsha.wowd,

I'm afraid we've run into a couple problems I'm unable to resolve for you.

    1. The Profile Builder plugin you are using for your registration form is not an AJAX form. So, when you click submit, it doesn't refresh in place, but instead reloads the page. Since you have PopUp Pro set to only be activated upon clicking the Join Us link, the form will not automatically be displayed again until that link is clicked. If your registration form was AJAX, the PopUp would just refresh.

    2. In AccessPress Social Login Lite you have not setup your API credentials for Facebook and Twitter, so those will not be able to be used until you do so.

    3. Email confirmation... No matter what configuration changes I made in Profile Builder plugin, no email confirmation was sent. However, there was a section in Users > All Users > Email Confirmation where the users could be confirmed. However, when I attempted to resend the email confirmation mail, none was received.

I dug a little deeper and I see you are running Postman SMTP and you have not configured the settings on that. Until you setup that plugin, you will not get email from your website.

I hope this clarifies a bit.

    Hi James,

    Hello Harsha.wowd,

I'm afraid we've pretty well exhausted what we can with PopUp Pro. It's design is not really intended for the purpose you're trying to use it for.

I've been consulting with other staff members and they have suggested the following plugins for this purpose. Perhaps they would be a better fit in this situation.

    https://codecanyon.net/item/modal-log-in-for-wordpress/3509483
    https://en-gb.wordpress.org/plugins/oa-social-login/

    I hope this helps!

    Hello Harsha.wowd,

My colleague Luís was unaware of this thread and the great lengths that I've already gone through to try to resolve this problem. Hence why he was contacting our code experts. I've already been working with them throughout this process.

They indicated that PopUp Pro is not really designed to do what you are wanting to do. That is why I was given the suggestion to pass on to you. PopUp Pro is more for simple forms or calls to action. What you are wanting to do requires reloading the popup when not using an AJAX form, which PopUp Pro cannot do. In order to achieve what you want would require a good bit of custom coding which goes beyond the level of support we can offer here.

    Please see the following: https://premium.wpmudev.org/manuals/using-wpmu-dev/support-vs-custom-development/

While we are always happy to help with fixes, suggestions and general WordPress help, I'm afraid we do not offer customization services for our members.

In your situation, the simplest and most cost effective route would be to use a plugin combination that is already designed for what you are wanting to do.

For a simple login form, PopUp Pro will work well. But I'm afraid what you require goes beyond what PopUp Pro can do.

I hope this clarified a bit.

    Best regards,

    James Morris
