How to get past a 404 error for my new multi site network

I have followed the online instructions to set up a multiple subdomains network as follows
-I added the recommended code in the config and htaccess files
-I saved permalink
-I created wildcard subdomain through the SiteGround control panel (*.domain.com)
You can see that I have a multisite dashboard and can apparently create sites using the dashboard, but the sites do not seem to actually exist - I get a 404 error when I try to visit any part of the site or dashboard.
Please see screenshots.

    Hi Simon,

Hope you're doing well today

Your settings seem to be correct on the WordPress end, I'm guessing it's something server related that might need some additional tweaks.
I also saw some similar reports where SSL certificate was causing this issue, so it would be best to get in touch with your host and ask them to check your SSL and wildcard settings in order to make sure everything is configured properly.

    Best regards,
    Predrag
