How to Set up theme demo with theme switcher

Hi,

I am running a Multisite network. I use themes from Elegant themes for my users. However without a theme demo users are finding it difficult. I wanted to

1. Set up a sub-domain like demo.mainsite.com/theme1
demo.mainsite.com/theme2
My doubt here is, if there are 80 themes,so should I install WordPress for 80 times? Like each installation for each theme. Is there any other way? How do theme company's host their demos?

2. How can I have theme switchers like found in elegant theme demo themes?

3. What About SEO? Should I No-index or No-follow or both?

4. For creating theme demo site, where can I find free images? can I use those images found in Original theme demo?

Please advice

    Hey Aathithyan,

    Hope you're doing well today!

    1. Set up a sub-domain like demo.mainsite.com/theme1
    demo.mainsite.com/theme2
My doubt here is, if there are 80 themes,so should I install WordPress for 80 times? Like each installation for each theme. Is there any other way? How do theme company's host their demos?

You could install a Multisite on demo.mainsite.com then each theme demo would be a subsite off of that Multisite  that would be a lot easier then tons of different single installations, you could manage it all from one dashboard.

    2. How can I have theme switchers like found in elegant theme demo themes?

You could use our Theme Switcher Plugin for this method: https://premium.wpmudev.org/project/advanced-theme-switcher/

Keep in mind that it simply changes the theme, the content on your site and all that will stay the same

    3. What About SEO? Should I No-index or No-follow or both?

This one is more up to you. If you are just placing dummy content on it, then mines well no-index it; however, you could put more valuable content and keywords through out the demo that might help out your page rank. In my opinion, if you're going to have that many themes, I wouldn't index it and would just try to get your main site where you are selling the themes ranked high

    4. For creating theme demo site, where can I find free images? can I use those images found in Original theme demo?

Search up royalty free images

We actually have a post on this too: https://premium.wpmudev.org/blog/best-free-stock-images-wordpress/

Often developers will use royalty free images in the demo content in which case you can keep them, you might want to ask the theme developer to be sure, just in-case
