How to upload our directory content

Hi Support-Team,

we have the entire directory content (a few hundreds of records) stored in a .csv file.

Wondering, how do we upload this file into our directory to avoid entering each listing entry manually.

Looking forward to hear from you soon.
Thank you
Prinz

    Hi Prinz,

Thank you for your another question.

You can try achieving this as described in the following replies.

    Hello Ash,
great hearing from you again. Thanks for giving me an alternative plugin.... BUT before I will use any of the suggested tools I am wondering

    1) about the .csv file we have to upload. Our db-records fields contain only a few fields related to the db structure from the directory plugin. To make it more clear

These are all the fields of one record out of directory listing, which we exported as an example:
    ID
    post_author
    post_date
    post_date_gmt

And these are the record fields we have in our .csv file stored:

    Business
    Company
    Company
    Industry
    Mission
    Contact
    Contact_Ph
    Other_Cont
    Contact_Name
    Contact_Title
    Contact_Em
    Website_URL
    State_Country
    Country_text
    City_text
    ZIP_Code
    Street_Name

Now we are wondering how goes an upload/import of such a small record compared to the one from directory together?

Will each field be placed in the right listing space?

Perhaps you can explain me a little more before we import wrongly.

    Big thank you.
    Regards
    Prinz

    Hi Prinz,

If you have few fields in your CSV file compared to the database fields then the other fields in the database will remain blanks but there are fields in the database which are mandatory and that you should add in your CSV files like ID, post_name etc.

In CSV file if you don't have values for any field then you should leave it blank without any value separated by comma. Also the field values should be in sequence according to the fields in the database so that they will be mapped correctly.

I recommend you to do this on your development site and then do it on your live site. Also before doing this on your live site, take full backup of your live site using the following Snapshot plugin so that if anything goes wrong then we can recover it.
