http://#, https://#, http://#top, https://#top returns about:blank

I am using mltisite and when I use an tag with the target as http://#, https://#, http://#top, or https://#top it returns an about:blank page and not the page I was on. I have tried this in multiple browsers with the same result.

Any ideas how to get this to work properly please.

    Hi, Bill!

Hope you’re doing well today

Could you tell me where are you trying to use it? Which tag are you using to include it?

I’ve tested in my MU site by adding these tags on a post and both are working fine for me:

    <a href="http://****.com/#top">top</a>
    <a href="http://****.com/#go-here">Go here</a>

Would you mind running a conflict test to make sure that there’s no plugin or the theme you’re using on your site causing this? You can find information about how to run a conflict test here: https://premium.wpmudev.org/docs/getting-started/getting-support/#chapter-2

Please, make sure you have an updated backup of your site before running the conflict test.

If conflict test has no positive result, could you please send us an email with the following information so we can have a closer look at this?

Subject: "Attn: Violeta" (Please use this subject line to ensure that it gets assigned to me  )
    - Server authentication credentials, if used (username/password)
    - WordPress admin username
    - WordPress admin password
    - Login URL
    - FTP credentials (host/username/password)
    - Linkback to this thread for reference
    - Any other relevant URLs

You can use our secure contact form here to send it (please, do not post this information in this thread since this is an open thread and could be accessible by anyone): https://premium.wpmudev.org/contact/#i-have-a-different-question.

Many thanks in advance and Happy New Year!

    Kind regards,

    Violeta

    Hello Bill,

If you are not using full URL in target link, then you can't use "http://" or "https://", but only target:

    <a href="#top-bar">click here</a>

I tested that code on your main site on returns-and-refund-policy page and it works correctly. Please check that code and let me know it it will work also for you.

    kind regards,
    Kasia
