Hummingbird Claims I need to Optimize Image - WP Smush Says It's "Awesome".

I have granted support access.

Please See Hummingbird Image Op Report (score of 19) and WP- Smush Dashboard (score of Awesome).

I would like to resolve the diametrically conflicting claims.

Thank you!

    Hi there,

Hope you are doing well today. I just had a closer look in your website and Smush seems to act accordingly. I re-ran the smush and your images are optimized properly.

About the HummingBird Optimize Images score. The notices I can see are about "Compressing and resizing". Compressing is what you can handle with Smush, simply bulk smush your images and you should be good with this part. Resizing though, means that you should use exact image dimensions rather than using larger images in smaller wrappers/div etc.
I quote from HummingBird -> Performance Report -> Optimize Images -> How to improve

If any images in the list above recommend “Compressing and resizing”, that means their dimensions are scaled down in your content compared to the actual file dimensions. You can crop or scale those images using the WordPress image editor to match the embedded size in your content.

Kindly follow the point #2 that Predrag explained here -

I hope this will helps to understand the situation.

For now you can either manually resize and compress the reported images - or just ignore this as they are not that larger and hopefully won't affect the performance.

    Hope this helps. Cheers!
