Hummingbird Configuration

2 questions.

1. Can you please provide the exact server block code enable browser caching? There is no existing server block in my nginx.conf file. Should it be placed before or after http block?

2. There are hummingbird files that page speed is asking to
"Eliminate render-blocking JavaScript and CSS in above-the-fold content
Your page has 2 blocking script resources and 2 blocking CSS resources. This causes a delay in rendering your page."

the files are:

Can these be resolved somehow?

Thank you!

    Hi jmachado,

There is no existing server block in my nginx.conf file. Should it be placed before or after http block?

Can you please talk to your host regarding your nginx configuration and ask them where is your server block located? Because without server block, your site would not be running. Some servers have nginx configured in a different way and server blocks are not found in regular location. In this case, your host can help you best regarding this.

Hummingbird suggests this: "Add the code above to the http or inside server section in the file". So you should be placing that before the http block.

    Can these be resolved somehow?

Well, Hummingbird cached assets are loaded according to source asset location. If your CSS and JS files are called from the header, then cached assets will also be loaded in header.

As a workaround, can you please disable minification at first, then try to put as many resources to footer as you can without breaking your site. Then turn on minification and see what happens. I believe this will help you in resolving your issue.

Please let us know how these go. If you have any confusion or if you have any further inquiry, we will be glad to help.

    Have a nice day. Cheers!
    Rupok
