Hi There,

From the pingdom test result, our site shows 142 requests. The CSS and JS haven't combined successfully. Here's the test link: https://tools.pingdom.com/#!/cuX6JQ/https://onlydinosaurs.com/features/walking-dinosaur-costume/

Our website is https://onlydinosaurs.com/. The above test page is https://onlydinosaurs.com/features/walking-dinosaur-costume/.

Here's screenshot link: https://prnt.sc/k6yjnu https://prnt.sc/k6yjd4

Can you please advice how to fix?

We appreciate your help. And thanks in advance,

    Hello OnlyDinosaurs

In your situation, the problem is the files are remotely hosted. Hummingbird, at present, can only modify files that are locally hosted on your server. All the URLs listed that are not being processed are hosted on an remote CDN.

This is actually why we have built our WPMU DEV CDN into Hummingbird. We understand the desire to remotely host such assets. So, how Hummingbird works is it will process the locally hosted files, optimize them, then push them to our CDN and update the code to reference the CDN links.

However, if you have a plugin that is already pushing these assets to a CDN before Hummingbird can process them, this will not work.

What you will have to do is disable the CDN feature of the other plugin you are using for CSS and JS files and then run Hummingbird Asset Optimization with the WPMU DEV CDN option enabled.

I hope this clarifies a bit.

      Thanks for your reply, James

We plan to enable WPMU DEV CDN. However, after some info dig, we found that WPMU DEV CDN uses StackPath network. StackPath is now the same as MaxCDN, right?

OK, actually now we had a bad experience with MaxCDN. Here's the thing: MaxCDN requires to whitelist all IP ranges in this page: https://www.maxcdn.com/one/tutorial/ip-blocks/ . However, our site host Bluehost can't whitelist such a large number of IPs. Because we share the server environment with many other accounts. Any server-wide change that we make affects all user, and as such, so they avoid it.

Due to above reasons, every week, our site can't load lots of images successfully randomly. Always there are some ips got blacklisted. Which made us frustrating.

So if we enable WPMU DEV CDN, shall we have the same problems?

      Please advice,

    Hello OnlyDinosaurs

    Sorry for the delay here….

WPMU DEV CDN only hosts CSS and JS assets. We have numerous members using BlueHost and Hummingbird and our CDN and I’ve not been able to find any reports of their being any whitelist issues as described. Perhaps this issue is specific to images, which Hummingbird does not handle. So, you should be good to use just the WPMU DEV CDN with CSS and JS assets.
