[Hummingbird] Hummingbird performance test failing – Admin very slow

In general, my admin has been very slow the last couple of days. I was using Hummingbird to try to speed things up. My latest attempt at running a performance test resulted in the following error:

"The performance test didn't return any results. This probably means you're on a local website (which we can't scan) or something went wrong trying to access WPMU DEV. Try again and if this error continues to appear please open a ticket with our support heroes"

    Hummingbird only helps with speeding, and optimising the site in the frontend by enabling Gzip, Page Caching, Browser Caching, Asset Optimization etc

    There are many factors that could correlate for the dashboard to load slow, it could be server specific, or a plugin etc. You might find the following article helpful, if you are looking forward to improve the load speed is dashboard side:


    I just ran a new Performance Test scan, and it worked fine.

    Regarding the “Gzip Compression”, and “Optimize Images” score.

    For Gzip Compression – The plugin is listing links which are served from an external server, I’m afraid, there isn’t any way to control links which is loading from a 3rd party source. You’ll have to either remove such links, or ignore the results if you want to keep those static links.

    For Images, you’ll notice images marked as “Compressing & Resizing”, which means that the image is loading larger than the content width of your theme, and hence it’s marked as needs optimization. This entirely varies from one theme to another, as it’s more specific to the theme.

    You’ll have to find the correct content width of these images loading in your homepage:

    Other than those, there are images which is listed loading externally from another server. I’m afraid, images served from external server cannot be smushed, or optimised in any way.
