Hummingbird – moving CSS files to the footer not showing in Chrome dev tools

I’ve been using the Pro versions of your plugins on a few of our sites but I don’t seem to be getting very tangible results when I then run our websites through tools such as Page Speed Insights.

I’ve done the following with smush:

Bulk compressed and super smushed the images

Converted the images to jpegs for lossy compression

Put images on the smush cdn

enabled lazy loading

attempted to smush images in the directory

I’ve done the following with hummingbird:

enabled page caching, browser caching, gravatar caching, rss caching

enabled gzip compression

fiddled around with the asset optimisation but didn’t want to dive into it to much in case I broke something

I’ve recently tried to move the majority of CSS files to the footer in asset optimisation, but when I look at the Network tab on Chrome developer tools, all the CSS files still appear at the beginning of the waterfall.

I was wondering if you would possibly be able to offer any insights into why this may be the case.

Many thanks!

    Hi Jenny

Hope you are doing good today.

Thank you for support access to site.

    I made some review in:

    1. Asset Optimization

    2. page source

    3. Network tab on Chrome developer tools

    4. and GTMetrix score (Waterfall)

As you say some files still exist there even if they are move to footer.

    What I did:

    1. I clear cache in Asset Optimization (gray button)

    2. I clear page cache in Hummingbird

    3. I refresh main page

non of files moved to footer shows now Network tab on Chrome developer tools and in GTMetrix score (Waterfall). Can you please double check now on your side?

    Kind Regards,
