[Hummingbird Pro] Browser Caching

When you set browser caching times do browsers check for new versions up until the expiry time and then load a new version no matter what after the expiry time?

    Hello Charles,
    how are you doing today?

Let me tell you how browser caching works :
When a caching is enabled for certain type of files for eg for 1 week. When the user visits the website for the first time browser has a conversation with the Host/Server it sends the all required files and with some instruction for each type of file. The server tells the browser that this particular image or file has to downloaded on once a week and not every time the user visits the page.
So when the user visits the page again after some time those particular files which were cached will not be downloaded again.

So if you clear the cache from the plugin settings this generally sends a new set of files even though expiry date is not reached.

Generally, in most cases, the browser doesn't check by themselves but if you clear the cache from any caching plugin when those files are requested again by the user server will send the new files.

You can get more information about caching in the below link :

    Hope this helps,

Please feel free to ask more questions if you have any.
