I have 4 wp multisite installations in subdirectories

I have 4 wp multisite installations in subdirectories on one domain. All the installations but one were set up to create subdirectory sites.
I installed ssl on the domain.
I forced ssl to all the subdirectory multisite installations.
The man working on it also decided to change them from http:// to https://www.
Everything seemed fine except for the multisite set up to create subdomain child sites. The child site did not have ssl.
After about 24 hours I suddenly had no access to any of the multisite network dashboards.
I am being sent to a redirect page.
Do you think it's because of the multisite subdomain network? If so, is changing it to a subdirectory network hard to do?

    Hi @Regina,

    Thanks for posting on the forum.

    I don't think that it's because of the multisite subdomain network.

    Could you please try adding the following code in the wp-config.php file of your WordPress install?

    define( 'FORCE_SSL_LOGIN', true );
    define( 'FORCE_SSL_ADMIN', true );

    If you can please also share the main site and sub site links from your multi site network so that i can test it.

    Kind Regards,
    Vinod Dalvi

    Hi Vinod,

    Thanks for the quick reply!

    Is there a way I can send you the links privately? I prefer not to put them in the forum yet.

    I'm not sure where to place the codes you gave me. Lines 1 & 2 or after the multisite codes and before the redirect cookie codes or where?

    Also, in looking at the each site's wp-config.php file I noticed that each of the sites have different multisite codes. Shouldn't they all look the same?

    Hi there @Regina,

    Hope you're well today and thanks for your question! :slight_smile:

    Also, in looking at the each site's wp-config.php file I noticed that each of the sites have different multisite codes. Shouldn't they all look the same?

    Yes and no, yes in the fact that they should each have the define for multisite to true, but then you can have subdomain (true or false), along with other defines, so I wouldn't be concerned they are different. :slight_smile:

    Place the code Vinod gave you directly above the line reading

    "That's all, stop editing! Happy blogging."

    You can send the links via our contact form here https://premium.wpmudev.org/contact/ in the subject line include "Attn: Jack Kitterhing" and in the body content link back to this thread. :slight_smile:

    Thanks!

    Kind Regards
