I have issues with the facebook login and my theme

Hi.

I am trying to setup a site with a theme that used to have a facebook login feature. The theme developers removed this because they could not keep up with the updates.

So I have bought the Ultimate Facebook login plugin from you, it looked to be the most professional facebook integration plugin.

But I can not get the site specific login to work.

Can I please get you to look at the login page at this site http://kameragrej.dk/log-ind/ and perhaps get an idea about what the conflicts are, because if you go straight to the default wordpress login at http://kameragrej.dk/wp-login/ everything works perfectly.

So I guess it's theme and plugin conflict. The theme developers have recommended another facebook plugin, which works most of the time, (social connect) But I would prefer your plugin.

Kind Regards

Henrik

    Hi.

It has been more than 1020 minutes since I posted my support request

How many minutes before an answer, should I expect from your "24/7/365 support" and "answer within minutes" statements? :stuck_out_tongue:

    Kind Regards

    Henrik

Hi there and welcome to the WPMU DEV Community for WordPress Support!

Well, it seems that I can log in to your site using the Ultimate Facebook plugin and I see what you are saying about it not changing any screen. What I'd like to ask is if you can tell me what URL you have specified to redirect to? This is something that is done on your site in the plugin, not the App that you create on Facebook. For reference, please consider http://marker.to/idxiNO/

    Hope this helps!

    Cheers,
    Paul

    Hi Paul

    Thanks for your answer.
I thought you were able to see the redirect in the HTML code

As I wrote in the initial post, the redirect works perfectly if you use the "standard" wordpress login site. (http://kameragrej.dk/wp-login/)

The standard page logs you in, and redirects you to the correct URL (http://kameragrej.dk/dashboard/)

So it is not the redirection that causes the problem, it must be a javascript conflict with the theme or similar. Please recognize that you are actually not logged in when the call returns from facebook.

I know PHP, but I have no clue about javascript so I am out of luck when it comes to understand why the return from facebook does not log you in.

I have attached the facebook connect settings from the backend as an image.

Please have a look at the HTML source from http://kameragrej.dk/log-ind/

    Hi Henrik,

I understand where you are coming from. Actually, not exactly where you live, which may be relevant, but your conceptual frame of mind. I, too, have some Teutonic blood in me and want to understand the inner workings of the applications that I run, be it a plugin, a computer, or even a coffee maker! I've asked to developer to pop in and see if he can shed some light on the situation, but until the, great news that it's working! Please continue to share as you learn more.

    Cheers,
    Paul

    Hello,

The script that is being used for the front-end login is actually shared between the plugin and the widget. In the current plugin release, enabling the widget will "release" the script and allow it to be included on your pages. I agree that this is probably something we'd rather see happen automatically.
