I put the question (unanswered since 25/02; https://premium.wpmudev.org/forums/topic/feed-url-is-invalid-and-cannot-be-processed#post-617188)
Thank you for helping me so I can make this plugin work
Is it urgent

1/ Why I can not store the first image in the media of WP?
2/ Why post dated 23/06/2013 is stored, but the display shows 25/02/2014?
3/ I would like to remove the "See it on Scoop.it, via Bien être" at the end. How?
4/ Is it possible to import the tags of each of my articles scoopt.it?
(otherwise suggestion for a new addon:wink:

    Hi @Hdcms,

I've taken a look here, and these issues are related to the feed itself. They're using html entities instead of true html, so the image parser can't find images.

I'm not 100% sure about the date, but I ran the feed through a validator, and found some warnings about including the dates more than once: http://validator.w3.org/feed/check.cgi?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.scoop.it%2Ft%2Fbien-etre-infos%2Frss.xml

They've also directly added the "See it on Scoop.it" links, and truncated the content. There isn't a way in the plugin to remove existing content from a post like that.

It's not possible to import tags related to the article at the original source, but you can add tags to every post imported on a particular feed. You can combine this with the filtering options, to first filter to only posts with certain keywords, then add a tag to it.

Is there another feed you can try? If you want to test one, you can run ours: https://premium.wpmudev.org/blog/feed/ It will properly import images.

Does that site perhaps have another feed you could use?

    Best regards,

Thank you for your answer but it makes your plugin useless :slight_frown:
Your RSS feed is working well!

I have no other options because I want to make the curation with my rss feed for "scoopt.it"

Do you have a solution for me (eg batch post processing add-on?) for 1 / and 3 / (import the image and remove the text or better to go directly the original article!)

Out of curiosity, I've looked into this a bit, too...

    1. The image import issue may relate to how SimplePie (the backend RSS engine) handles graphic files without extensions (or particular MIME types, not sure), as I've imported feeds using HTML entities just fine. As a theory, I've also tested this feed with and without Feedburner, and with FeedWordPress, which also uses SimplePie as its backend for many functions. FWP with FWP Advanced Filters could not import the images, either. This needs more testing to isolate the exact issue.

    2. The Scoop It feed is very unusual... it should be using one set of dates or the other. Odd they chose both. Regardless, the feed currently looks like those dates match, so it shouldn't matter which ever is ultimately chosen by Autoblog. Choosing the feed option "Original Posts Date" should result in the date populated in the feed item being used in the WordPress post. It is possible, however, that your WordPress theme may be displaying the post_modified time, and not the post_date. Autoblog only alters the post_date timestamp per your instructions, and leaves the post_modified timestamp alone.

    3. Removal of the text during import would require a custom Add-on for Autoblog... perhaps an adaptation of the Strip Images Add-on. Removal of the text following import can be accomplished via some form of search and replace or bulk editing plugin. Example of such plugins, that I have NOT personally tested and you should be VERY careful testing/using, might be found at http://wordpress.org/plugins/search-and-replace/ or http://urbangiraffe.com/plugins/search-regex/

    4. I have yet to test "autotag" plugins for WordPress, but I've heard there are a few out there, already. I will eventually test a few.

Thank you for your participation, especially for plugins (3 /) "Removal of the text ..."
    I also found (4 /) a plugin that "tag" items (http://wordpress.org/plugins/simple-tags/).

    But I hope and expect a response from @ alexander because I prefer an plugin integrated [(3 /) + + + and (1 /) + +] rather many plugins

    @Alexander Rohmann
My need is to get "my rss feed" as curator (scoopt.it is a good product for this). Thank you to answer me if this is possible with an addon for this plugin?

No problem! I'm a fellow webmaster of a few WordPress websites, and have been very busy with Autoblog and a few other RSS plugins lately in order to really get a site up exactly how I want it. Autoblog's come the closest to being able to do exactly everything I want... so far.

With respect to the image import issue with Scoop It, the WPMU guys may want to take another close look at the Scoop It site and the Autoblog code in \classes\Autoblog\Addon\Image.php. At first glance, it sure looks like anything in an RSS feed that does NOT have an extension of a common graphic type (jpg/jpeg/gif/png) may not be considered an importable graphic, irrespective of the file "magic bytes" header/footer. @Alexander Rohmann, am I misinterpreting line 52? In addition to files with no extensions... it looks like tif/tiff/bmp files aren't supported for import, as well?

    Hi there @Hdcms and @DTuloJr,

Hope you're both well today and sorry about the extreme delay on this.

@Hdcms Are you still having any issues with this?

@DTuloJr I've taken a look at this and it seems your correct, if it doesn't have the standard mime type extension, such as .jpg, .png, .gif example, it won't import.

    Thank you!

    Kind Regards
