    Hi Neil McEvoy,

I’m so sorry to hear the inconvenience. To find out if any other plugin is conflicting and causing this issue, we need to do a plugin conflict test. That is – temporarily deactivate all plugins except BuddyPress and BuddyPress Activity + plugin and check if our plugin works as expected. If yes, we will then start activating other plugins one by one and check at which point the issue comes back. If plugin conflict doesn’t provide any valuable insight, we will then need to do a theme conflict test which will involve activating default WordPress themes.

But as these might take some time and I’m not sure if your site is a live production site or not, can you please confirm if we are allowed to do so on your site? If not, can you please clone your site using our Snapshot Pro plugin and then provide us access to that cloned site so we can do these tests and try to find the reason behind this issue?

We will start as soon as you confirm. I’m looking forward to hearing from you and resolving this issue as soon as possible.

    Regards,

    Rupok

    Hi Neil,

Snapshot will enable you to create a backup of the site that you can move to the new destination which can be on the same server on a separate server.

This article will be able to help you clone the site using Snapshot Pro.

    https://premium.wpmudev.org/blog/easy-migration-snapshot/

You can also explore and use our brand new migration plugin “Shipper Pro” (https://premium.wpmudev.org/project/shipper-pro/)

Please write back to this thread if you need any further assistance.

    Regards

    Hi guys

I have installed Snapshot Pro to digitalscot.net

I was about to run it when I saw this: “max_execution_time is set to 60 which is too low. A minimum execution time of 150 seconds is recommended to give the migration process the best chance of succeeding. If you use a managed host, contact them directly to have it updated.”

Is that a show stopper? Is it a setting you can amend?

I can get a dev to it but I have to pay them per hour and so it will cost me $ just for a few mins work.

Also if you like you can proceed with taking a snapshot.

    Cheers, Neil.

    Hi Neil McEvoy

    Sorry for the delay here.

I suggest increase both values PHP memory to 512M and Max Execution Time to 180, it can help the plugins and avoid further problems.

You can follow the instructions to increase the max execution time and PHP memory here

How to Increase the Maximum Upload and PHP Memory Limit (2019)

If you get stuck feel free to contact us on chat and we can help you to increase both values.

About your issue, my apologies seem we missed a configuration, I had a closer look at the chat and made some tests, the Buddy Press activity should only work in the BuddyPress level, I mean, by default BP_ENABLE_MULTIBLOG is set as off, and it will make the Activity+ plugin only shows to mainsite/activity, to enable it on subsite level you will need to add the BP_ENABLE_MULTIBLOG as true

    define( ‘BP_ENABLE_MULTIBLOG’, true );

To your wp-config.php file, just above the line

/* That's all, stop editing! Happy blogging. */

    Hi Neil McEvoy

    Sorry for the delay here,

It happens because BP_ENABLE_MULTIBLOG changes the flow of your BuddyPress

With BP_ENABLE_MULTIBLOG enabled, BuddyPress content will be displayable on any site in your network, and BP links will always point to the current site. Thus,

on http://boone.example.com/, profile links will point to http://boone.example.com/members/boonebgorges/

on http://example.com/boone/, profile links will point to http://example.com/boone/members/boonebgorges/

on http://example.com/, profile links will point to http://example.com/members/boonebgorges

    and so forth.

    Usage

To turn on BP_ENABLE_MULTIBLOG mode, put the following line in your wp-config.php file, somewhere above “That’s all, stop editing!”:

    define( 'BP_ENABLE_MULTIBLOG', true );

    Some warnings about BP_ENABLE_MULTIBLOG

BP_ENABLE_MULTIBLOG is not appropriate for most situations, and you should be sure to understand its limitations carefully before enabling it.

Note that BP_ENABLE_MULTIBLOG is not the same thing as WordPress Multisite, and BP_ENABLE_MULTIBLOG is not necessary for your users to have their own sites/blogs.

BP_ENABLE_MULTIBLOG does not enable separate BuddyPress networks on your installation. While it will be possible to view boonebgorges’s profile at more than one URL, the profile data itself (and group data, etc) will be the same on each site in your network. For multi-network BuddyPress, see https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/bp-multi-network/.

Unfortunately, the plugin BuddyPress Activity + only will work on subsite with this feature, and maybe it will not fit the site task due to the problems that you had.

This is a screenshot of my subsite with BP_ENABLE_MULTIBLOG enabled.

Wouldn't you mind describe the main task for you subsites, maybe we can find a workaround that works better than BuddyPress Activity +.

Let us know the above information and we can try to find a workaround for you,

    Hi Patrick

My primary goal is to build multisites that can have their own Buddypress communities.

As much as possible I would like them to have all the features, like Status updates.

However I can live without that particular function, the core need first is to have dedicated BP communities per site, notably member profiles + groups / bbpress forums.

    thanks, Neil.
