I'm using CustomPress to add fields to my directory

I'm using CustomPress to add fields to my directory listings.

http://petspagetest.com/listing/cornell-university/

So what I have is about 20 categories that are possible for each listing.

So we've got the main listing page for Hospitals. Each Hospital has their own set of specialists. And each Hospital doesn't have ALL of the categories of specialists, so I need a way to select which Hospitals will display this data.

Select specialist options on Hospital listing page > display options on the backend to add Oncology specialist info if I select that the Hospital has this type of specialist category.

How would I go about organizing this correctly in CustomPress?

    Hi @ben,

    Welcome to the forum.

Not exactly sure of what you are asking. Your site is actually producing an error for me at moment.

Warning: mysql_connect(): Too many connections in /home/petsdev/public_html/wp-includes/wp-db.php on line 1372
    Error establishing a database connection
This either means that the username and password information in your wp-config.php file is incorrect or we can't contact the database server at localhost. This could mean your host's database server is down.

Are you sure you have the correct username and password?
Are you sure that you have typed the correct hostname?
Are you sure that the database server is running?
If you're unsure what these terms mean you should probably contact your host. If you still need help you can always visit the WordPress Support Forums.

Can you explain how you are using the categories? have you created custom taxonomies for the categories.

There isn't any functionality that would display specific information based on the category you select, this would need to be custom coded in your template files. All the custom fields do is allow you to add fields to the content_type form, but they're displayed for all the listings.

If you could fix that DB error so I could take a better look, also if you could grant support access in

Dashboard > wpmudev > support > support access

    Thanks

Sorry about that my dev was working on implementing something else, we fixed the error now. I'll grant you support access.

Basically, we have Hopital "listings". Each Hospital has specialists and based on which fields I fill in (with space for information about each specialist under their category) would show up on the Hospital page.

So Hospitals would have Specialists Categories. If I select Radiology for example on a Hospital page, I want a field to appear to actually fill in the data for that category. So I select Radiology on a Hospital listing admin page and now I can fill in this specific Hospital's Radiology specialist's info.

    Hi,

So you want a dynamically generated field to appear depending on what category you select?

For this you would need to custom code this in the plugin. Directory or custompress do not have any functionality like that. I can ask one of our developers to see if this is possible without much code, but it could be quite a complex code change, in which case you might need to hire a developer to do this. We do have a jobs board here, if you would like to advertise. https://premium.wpmudev.org/wordpress-development/

    Hope this helps
