Image Preview when posting to Facebook

If you look at the latest post on this FB page, http://www.facebook.com/joinfgv

I added a link to a course on my site: http://www.myfgvuniversity.com/courses/la-procrastinacion-y-como-vencerla/

However, the course image is not detected. It is the page logo that is placed on there, pixelated. Is there any way to change it? I would like for the course preview to be the course image. I think this functionality comes from how the site is designed so I'm reaching out to you. Please advise.

Thanks!

Lilly

Hey @Liliana Delgado, hope you're doing well today!

For this situation, we'll want to involve one more plugin here, that being our Ultimate Facebook plugin:

    https://premium.wpmudev.org/project/ultimate-facebook/

The reason being that we've developed an integration between the two plugins, which will allow for exactly what you're looking for.

Before we do that though, you'll want to upgrade CoursePress Pro to the latest version. Once you've done that, you'll want to replace the file located here (you'll need to go into your site via FTP, or by using your hosting provider's file manager):

    /coursepress/includes/classes/class.coursepress-integration.php

With the copy inside the attached .zip file here (there's a tiny quirk in the latest release that this file of mine fixes, I've mentioned this to the developer).

Once that's done, and once you've set up your Facebook app for Ultimate Facebook to use, you'll want go to:

Facebook -> Facebook Settings -> Facebook OpenGraph

And check the box for "Use OpenGraph support" support there.

Then, once you've done that, you can use Facebook's Object Debugger tool to force a scrape of your course page by first entering the URL to the course here:

    https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/og/object/

And then click on "Fetch new scrape information".

And now, you should be all set!

    Hope this helps!

    Kind Regards,
    Michael

Thank you Michael! I updated CoursePress Pro and downloaded the zip file. Also installed plugin from https://wordpress.org/plugins/wpmu-dev-facebook-addon/, since I don't have the membership to download that specific plugin. It didn't work. When I tried to open a course, I got an error message saying there was an error on line 72 of code. I had to deactivate the plugin so that the site could work again.

I got as far as that. I can login to GoDaddy and I'm sure I can replace the .php but after that I'm completely lost. Is there any other easier way to do it? It just seems like this should be standard page functionality, like it is on many other site.

    Let me know.

    thanks!

    Hey @Liliana Delgado,

That add-on is designed for Ultimate Facebook, you would need to have Ultimate Facebook installed first in order to use that add-on.

However... as a end-of-the-week gift to you, I've granted a free upgrade to a full membership for the rest of your billing period here, so you can now install Ultimate Facebook on your site, and fully follow through with the instructions I laid out earlier.

Let me know if there's any hiccups you run into with the instructions I gave before please!

    Kind Regards,
    Micharel
