Impossible ammount of disk usage on my main site:

Hi, good day.

I run a multisite where I have configured an “per site” disk-space limit of 512MB. As soon as I installed SnapShot Pro I didn’t realized that all those snapshots were stored “also” on my server despite the fact that I configured the plugin so the snapshots were stored on Dropbox and/or Google Drive.

Eventually the main site reached (and overpassed) the storage limit and in the Dashboard I saw this warning:

So I cleaned all the backups that were not necessary anymore in order to free some space but now my CPanel tells me:

but my site dashboard remained exactly like before.

Why is this happening?

    Hey Roberto,

I hope you’re doing well and thank you for your question!

It’s quite natural that Snapshot Pro backup files take space of your server’s drive even though it’s configured to store backups outside. That’s because it has to create a file somewhere prior to uploading it to the external server. “Per-site” disk-space limit though is a Multisite’s setting and not Snapshot’s itself.

That said, once you’ve deleted all the backup files you’ve regained some disk space and IMHO cPanel shows that properly. Give your dashboard’s a moment as it’s quite a common thing that the stats are updated every once in a while due to how WP Cron works. If it doesn’t change within a couple of hours, please let me know.

    Cheers,

    Adam
