installation problems multi domain over more IP

I would like to manage multiple domains with wpmudev, with different IP's on one server.
I had to install the software components mulitple times and would like to check the quality before I go any further. The last time I got the sunrise.php remarks in red, but couldn't locate the file at the given place.

    Hi Jude,

In http://e-cf.eu/wp-admin/network/settings.php?page=multi-domains I'll get the notice:
Please copy the sunrise.php to /var/www/vhosts/e-cf.eu/httpdocs/wp-content/sunrise.php and uncomment the SUNRISE setting in the /var/www/vhosts/e-cf.eu/httpdocs/wp-content/wp-config.php file.
Please uncomment the line //define( 'SUNRISE', 'on' ); in the /var/www/vhosts/e-cf.eu/httpdocs/wp-config.php file.
But I don't have the file and the define in the wp-config.php
    Kind regards,
    Marleen

    Hi Marleen

Sorry about that, I was away for a bit in the middle as I had a live chat session scheduled.

    https://premium.wpmudev.org/live-support/

Anyhoo, if your wp-config.php file does not have the lines added in then please go ahead and add it after copying the sunrise file as indicated.

    define( 'SUNRISE', 'on' );

Just make sure you add it somewhere close to the top .. before the place where it says.

/* That's all, stop editing! Happy blogging. */

    Hope that helps

    Jude

    Hey @marleenoldehartmann1,

If you log into the site via FTP, and navigate to the /httpdocs folder, and open up the wp-config.php file for your site, there's this line in there:

    define( 'SUNRISE', 'on' );

Which is what my colleague Jude had mentioned inserting earlier, a few posts up in the thread.

I'm also seeing that inside of this folder:

    /httpdocs/wp-content/

That the sunrise.php file also exists there now.

    Kind Regards,
    Michael

oh ok, Michael, now I see what you mean. Above changes I made myself. But I am waiting for the testing of the configuration and the advice for that as Jude promised to look at. He told me that he would look at the multi domain multi site approach on several IP adresses on my server, before I go on installing multiple URL's. Where can I reach him for that? I opened up the support console in WPMUDEV but he left no messages and as far as I can see he didn't go there.

    kind regards,
    Marleen

    Hey @marleenoldehartmann1,

Before I continue, please note the following from our Getting Support:

Please do not open multiple tickets for the same issue, this can cause confusion and problems for you where different paths are taken to investigate the same issue. This also causes delays for all members whilst multiple staff deal with multiple tickets in our support queue.

We do take tickets from oldest to newest, and there can be others ahead in the queue. We do try to get to everyone as quickly as possible. Opening multiple tickets for something, however understandable it may be, doesn't generally help make a situation better.

We've got the rules in place, so that we can offer the best service we can to all of our members here.

I closed out the other ticket that was opened because it was not going to help resolve this issue sooner, and I want to get this sorted as swiftly, and smoothly as possible.

I did ask Jude to have a look into this, but I reckon he got busy with things, so I'll jump in for this one.

oh ok, Michael, now I see what you mean. Above changes I made myself.

Okay, that would explain that then.

But I am waiting for the testing of the configuration and the advice for that as Jude promised to look at.

Right now, I'm not seeing that those domains are set up to be used with Multi-Domains. Yes, they're added inside of Plesk, but when I visit them, I get a default page from the server, where I should be redirected to the main domain for the network.

For example, if fuzzykitten.com is set up inside of Multi-Domains, and fuzziness.com is the main domain, when I visit this in my browser:

    fuzzykitten.com

    I should be redirected here:

    fuzziness.com

Now, in looking at this, one the e-cf.wiki domain was previously pointing towards a different IP altogether in it's DNS settings, so it wouldn't have been able to be used with Multi-Domains.

The domains set up Plesk are pointing to several different IPs, they all need to be pointed towards the same IP address:

    37.97.134.13

I tried doing this with your e-cf.wiki domain, but from the notice I'm given:

Warning: The domain e-cf.wiki does not resolve or resolves to another IP address (185.53.177.20). Please correct DNS settings.

And what I see when I visit that IP address, I'm thinking that you're going to need to set up a dedicated IP for the e-cf.wiki, and have the domains you wish to use with Multi-Domains point to that domain.

    Kind Regards,
    Michael

    Hi Michael,

Thank you for taking over fom Jude, however I do feel irritated. If you promise a client to look into an installation and you dont respond anymore, a remark 'that he got busy' of a college is not in place. The "We've got the rules in place, so that we can offer the best service we can to all of our members here ...... I want to get this sorted as swiftly, and smoothly as possible." is not making me feel any warmer about the 24/7 support you offer!

I believe that there is some misunderstanding building up around my question. Let me explain. I would like to have some of MY sites (different URL, different or same IP) run on one WP installation with wpmudev plug ins (different one's on different sites) and with different themes. I would like to try one or two of wpmudev's themes, but also want to mix with some others too.
I don't sell blogging/sites etc and don't want redirecting URL's. It is just for my own convience and management of my sites.

If this is not possible or very difficult to set up, please tell me and I will look for another solution. That is why I wondered if I am in the right place.

    Kind regards,
    Marleen
