installed, activated and then deactivated plugin, now header/footer styling have changed

Hi,

We installed and activated the Pop up plugin.

Saw these errors:

* Your theme has the call to <?php wp_head(); ?> but it is not called directly before </head> in the file “header.php”

* Your theme has the call to <?php wp_footer(); ?> but it is not called directly before </body> in the file “footer.php”

So we deactivated the plugin.

Now the styling of both our header and footer have changed.

Is there something that I should look for first that the plugin would have affected?

Thanks.

Hello John and welcome to the WPMU-DEV Community!

No, the Pop-Up plugin doesn’t change anything to your theme, or anywhere else for that matter!

However, if there was a conflict between the plugin and your theme and you also have some aggressive caching plugin enabled, then perhaps you should clear your caches so that everything returns to the way it was before.

If you continue having these issues, try testing it with a different browser. If it works with another browser then all you need to do is clear your browser cache & cookies.

The error you mentioned occurs when the theme you’re using doesn’t properly implement the wp_head() and wp_footer() functions. Nothing to worry about though, as it can easily be fixed.

I am marking this issue as resolved. If however you find that it keeps persisting after following the above instructions then feel free to re-open it!

    Cheers,

    Aristeides.
