Installing cURL for local dev on Win 7

Hi guys ,

I have a loaded question, but I don't have anyone else to turn to at this point! I spent most of the day yesterday trying to get cURL setup right on my laptop (windows 7, 64-bit) in order to follow along with your very own Daniel P's post https://premium.wpmudev.org/blog/wordpress-development-beginners-php/.

I've downloaded the cURL (curl-7.50) multiple times, tried every combo of .exe file placement in different directories and tried ALL the suggestions listed from SO:
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/9507353/how-do-i-install-set-up-and-use-curl-on-a-windows

I currently have a 'curl' folder under C:\Program Files where I dropped the .exe file (from the download - src/.libs). I also believe I have the correct PATH environmental variable setup right (;C:\Program Files\curl).

I just keep getting the command prompt error now "libcurl-4.dll is missing..." I even added this file the same program files directly, but then it keeps giving me more errors saying more .dll files are missing....so I assume it has to do with certifications/SSL or something.

I just don't know where I am going wrong, so I just wanted to know if you've had this question before and if there is a proven solution from another member with the same operating system.

Again, I realize this is a big question, so no worries if you can't find an answer.

Thanks so much in advance,
Derek
